À propos de cet audio

We get told all the time that men can't talk about their mental health. But what is mental health if not a collection of our thoughts, feelings and experiences? MENtal Health Takeaways podcast is a series of discussions between everyday men who share their thoughts, feelings and experiences in the hope of generating a "takeaway" for the listener. I.e. useable mental health tips, tricks, pointers and pieces of advice that can be immediately applied to real life. We also really feel like men are less likely to engage in conversations when they can't have a bit of a giggle along the way.Mental Health Takeaways Développement personnel Réussite

  • Movement, Music & Men’s Minds
    Dec 7 2025

In this episode, Matt Knibb and Brad Smith sit down with Alice and Alex for a powerful and honest exploration of mental health, community, and the healing potential of creativity. Together, they delve into their personal journeys, opening up about the challenges they’ve faced and the support systems that helped them through.

The conversation shines a spotlight on Talk Club and Speak Up and Dance—two initiatives transforming how men connect, communicate, and care for their mental wellbeing. By blending safe spaces with shared passions like music and movement, these communities are helping men express what often goes unsaid.

As the discussion unfolds, the team unpack the deep relationship between dance, emotion, and mental health. They reflect on how rhythm, movement, and collective energy can uplift mood, unlock expression, and create moments of genuine joy. Cultural shifts, personal growth, and the importance of showing up for each other all take centre stage.

This heartfelt conversation closes with powerful takeaways: the importance of connection, the courage of self-acceptance, and the reminder to embrace the present—because sometimes, living in the moment is the greatest act of self care.
