A new deeper learning initiative from Woodford County Public Schools sheds light on how students are gearing up for success and how they are being prepared for the future. The Portrait of a Learner exemplifies how Kids Win in our district. In this episode, Superintendent Adkins joins students from Northside Elementary to discuss what it means to be a Resilient Learner and to never give up. Along with his students, Principal Hundley shares a little insight on how the community of Midway is joining forces to help students learn about the history of Midway, Kentucky, and to bring this history to life for our students. #SaddleUpMidway is just one way Kids Win with Woodford County Public Schools.

    Our seniors have accomplished so much in their time with Woodford County Public Schools. From Preschool to Kindergarten and on to Fifth Grade, our seniors learned a solid foundation. Entering the halls of Woodford County Middle School they explored different opportunities which pushed them to great things at Woodford County High School. Even if our students didn’t start here, they are still ours and we love them. Join us as the Kids Win Podcast and Superintendent Danny Adkins celebrate the class of 2023 at our senior breakfast in May of 2023.

  • Under The Lights With Big Fish- Woodford County High School

    Going back and forth between the present day and the past, Woodford County High School presented the musical Big Fish in March of 2023. The show brought so much emotion to the stage and our community was impressed by the talent of our students. Superintendent Danny Adkins is joined on this episode by six of our talented and stellar scholars as they recap the story of Big Fish, their journey to becoming these characters, and the friendships that were built. The cast of Big Fish lived up to our expectations. The Kids Win Podcast is excited to showcase the talents of our WCHS Scholars. Riley, Conner, Luke, Isabella, Luke, and Samantha are truly The Gold Standard.

  • A Collaborative Community Project- Woodford County High School
    Mar 29 2023

    Woodford County High School students were invited to participate in a competition to redesign, engineer, and help build a work cell for Parker Hannifin's O-Ring Division in Lexington, KY. In this episode, Superintendent Danny Adkins interviews two project leaders, Weslee and Hunter, on their involvement and work with their teammates. Weslee and Hunter talk about the design process to make the work cell more accessible for individuals with a disability. This collaborative partnership is made possible thanks to the Kentucky Department of Education, Parker Hannifin, Woodford County High School, and Berea Makerspace. The Kids Win Podcast is proud of our WCHS Yellow Jacket Scholars. Weslee, Hunter, and all of our students on this project are truly The Gold Standard!
