  • Your brain is trained for food noise.
    Apr 23 2026

Why do we have food noise in the first place?!

Gina Livy sits down with clinical psychologist Dr. Beverley David to explore how the brain’s need for reward, feedback, and emotional support influences your habits and motivation to make change. Feeling bored or restless isn’t a sign that something isn’t working, but a normal part of the process of change. This conversation connects the science of behaviour change with the realities of sustainable weight loss, reinforcing that it is about building awareness and continuing to show up even when it feels repetitive (in fact, building new habits is exactly how you rewire your brain!). Finally, Gina and Dr. Beverley dig into what nobody is talking about: where does food noise come from anyway?

Dr. Beverley is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She also holds a Ph.D. in Sleep Research (Insomnia) and a Master's in Health Psychology.

  • Is the scale your friend or foe?
    Apr 22 2026

Done losing your weight? Does the scale still serve a purpose? Let's talk about it!

Gina Livy and Maintenance Program Manager Odette break down what it really means to maintain weight loss after reaching your goal, and why this phase is where the real work begins. From navigating real-life situations at your goal weight to trusting your body, strengthening daily routines, and embracing life without rigid dieting rules, this conversation highlights how maintaining is about more than just that number on the scale; it’s about identity, belief, and learning to live your life with intention. If you’ve ever wondered how to maintain your weight long term without falling back into old habits, this episode offers practical insight, reassurance, and a fresh perspective on what lasting success actually looks like.

  • Follow a plan, not your mood.
    Apr 22 2026

You’re not behind. It just feels that way.

In this episode, Gina Livy unpacks that all-too-familiar spiral that hits when you’re trying to lose weight or make a change and suddenly feel like you’ve already messed it up. A few days in, and the doubt creeps in. Like you should have it figured out by now. Yeah, no. That’s not how this works. This conversation gets into the reality of what it takes to actually change your habits for good. The learning curve. The resistance. The part where your brain starts questioning everything. Gina breaks down why consistency matters more than perfection, why trusting the process isn’t about blind faith, and how years of dieting have shaped the way you’re showing up right now. You’ll hear the truth about why traditional diets “work” but never last. Why your body pushes back when you try to force weight loss. And why doing things differently might feel uncomfortable, but that’s often a sign you’re on the right track.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m already failing” just days in… this one’s for you.

  • From the experts: Perfection is the enemy of consistency.
    Apr 21 2026

Finish this sentence: "You will never reach your weight loss goal if you..."
Hard to do, especially with what we’ve been told for the last 20 years.

In this expert panel episode, Gina Livy is joined by leading health professionals to unpack the real reasons weight loss can feel so complicated, especially when focusing on making it sustainable. The conversation weaves together insights on hormones, mindset, gut health, sleep, and supplementation, highlighting why sustainable weight loss isn’t just about food choices, but about unlearning diet culture, addressing individual identity and history to build habits that actually stick. Gain a deeper understanding of why perfectionism is actually the thing keeping you stuck. Why waiting to feel motivated is a trap. Why the scale has been lying to you about what success even looks like.
