Alistair’s life is turned upside down when he is abruptly separated from his friends and family. As the universe slowly transforms and new laws take hold, everyone within his universe is cast into the trial—a crucible of survival and transformation. Before being set on his path, Alistair encounters a system avatar—a brief and enigmatic guide who offers little explanation, guidance, or aid before sending him and the rest of his universe into the unknown.

With their loved ones found and their Clan established, Alistair and Riseth push themselves to new heights in the final months of The Trial, a crucible of challenges set within interconnected subspaces. Scouring trial worlds for the strength, ships, and resources they need, they strive to forge a safe haven far from the chaos of their fractured homeworlds and the looming conflicts of the integrated universe. Each challenge tests their resolve and sharpens their skills, forcing them to navigate the ambitions of rival factions and the dangers of the Trial itself.

The Trials have ended. The universe has been forever altered, and countless eyes now turn to the stars as a new frontier opens for those bold enough to venture into the unknown. With the Trial behind him, Alistair finds himself back on Earth—but he has no intention of staying. As he and the rest of the clan regroup, their sights are set beyond their home worlds, toward the vast expanse of space. They seek a new home, a safe haven where they can grow their power and influence, forge new bonds, and find their place in a changed universe in anticipation of the Gathering Storm.
