After an epic battle in Helmfirth, Nate helped defeat the Adventurer's Guild traitors, free the slaves and save Kiri's life—but will it cost him his own? Still navigating his way in this new world, Nate's goal is to learn everything he can and rise up through the levels of the System. To educate himself, he needs to gain access to the Etrua Royal University which will be no easy task, having to compete in a tournament against the most skilled Silver-Ranked Adventurers the Guild has to offer. But the system has other ideas.

Triumphing in the Guild Tournament, despite outside interferences, Nate has gained entry to the Etruan Royal University. With his System Challenge over and a path to learning more about magic and the System he exists within, he is hoping for a quiet year or two during which he can grow. That growth however is drawing attention to him and unknown enemies lurk in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to pounce. Can Nate rise to the challenge, or will he finally meet his end at the hands of those that covet his gifts?
