Being a Fan of Disney: The Book is about my fandom, my incredible luck in being able to teach a class and host a podcast about Disney fandom, and how Disney influences our lives. Francis Parkman was a noted 19th Century American historian who wrote widely about the American West.

In the 1850s, gold fever swept the West, but people had to walk, sail, or ride horses for months on end to seek their fortune. The question of faster, safer transportation was posed by national leaders. Despite that brevity, both commanding generals were mortally wounded in the exchange, making British General James Wolfe a national hero on both sides of the Atlantic and French General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm a convenient scapegoat.
