Mark and the ones he loves are forced to explore an abandoned space resort until a connection is made that opens an alternate path. With the help of his Enthralled, he finally steps out of his ChronoMind immersion rig and back into the real world. The battlefield becomes much wider as Mark, Ahnix, Vale, and Roo must make new friends and face dangerous enemies across both digital and post-apocalyptic landscapes before they can hope to find the peace they deserve.

For Marc and his party, their current quest seems to drag on and on. Clearing the Labyrinth, defeating Circe, destroying Medusa, and more have become a grind. The main factor that keeps them going is that Zeus is keeping his promise by helping their levels shoot up. Meanwhile, Marc's Safe Zone, Any Port, and the accompanying Safe Zone network continue expanding and growing. They keep him busy whenever he manages to get back home on breaks from the quest.

After my last fight with Darius Windstorm, the Refuge has struck. With the Blobber world consumed by war, I know there’s only one place my team and I can find safety, and we start a frantic quest to find the runaway warriors in the deepest recesses of the dungeons. Even with a few new friends, the overbearing System won’t stay down for long. A reckoning is coming, and my status as a warlord means I’ll be at the forefront of any new strike against their world.
