Story
For most of our lives we've been taught that the church has replaced Israel, Israel migrated and mixed with all nations, and that God no longer cares about Israel... but if that's the case, how can the church trust anything that comes out of the mouth of God if he'd just back out on all the promises made to Israel?

Story
“Krak Teet” is a Gullah Geechee phrase meaning “to speak.” And the first-hand accounts in this book are transcribed directly from the grandchildren of the enslaved who laid the city’s treasured cobblestone roads and introduced its famous red rice and deviled crabs. Those who lived through what can be considered the country’s second wave of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Krak Teet catalogs stories of struggle alongside stories of success.

Story
This is not your high school history. From atomic showgirls and quickie divorces to Burning Man billionaires and desert survivalists, Nevada has built its reputation on contradictions. It is a place where nothing should have thrived and yet everything did, in the most outrageous ways possible. In this book, you’ll meet miners who gambled away fortunes before breakfast, mobsters who turned Vegas into a playground, politicians who looked the other way, and dreamers who set fire to wooden effigies in the desert just to see what would happen.

Story
Not every western American town had a public cemetery nicknamed "Boot Hill". It required a lot of violent deaths for a cemetery to be called "Boot Hill". The first Boot Hill cemeteries were in the cattle towns of Hays and Dodge City, Kansas. Many of the cemetery occupants were cowboys who "died with their boots on" in gunfights, beatings, stabbings, and hangings. There are other famous Boot Hills in Tombstone, Arizona and Deadwood, South Dakota. Boot Hill cemeteries began as public cemeteries. The first victim likely arrived at the cemetery with a fatal gunshot wound.

It is hard not to fall in love with fashion plate Mary Christiana Hettler who gives up the high society of Chicago to ultimately move to rural Nevada, one of the bleakest sites in the nation to serve as an Episcopal Deaconess. Upon landing in the mining town, known primarily as a murder capital during int heyday, Mary Christiana doesn't give an inch. She transforms a dusty, dingy "icebox" of a house into one that becomes the heart of the Episcopal community with hot pink rooms, exotic flowers and a rolling, grassy yard.

When We Spoke to the Dead

Story
In the 1840s, the Fox Sisters—and the legions of mediums they inspired—ignited the Spiritualist movement that swept through Victorian parlors and presidential campaigns alike. Contacting the dead wasn't merely a parlor trick: It was a political statement, a declaration of self that still echoes. Séances attracted suffragists and scientists, skeptics and charlatans, giving women a voice in a society that often refused to hear them. But as Spiritualism surged, it also blurred the lines between faith, fraud, feminism, and financial opportunity.

Yellowstone remains a national icon, one of the few entities capable of bridging ideological divides in the United States. Yet the park's history is also filled with episodes of conflict and exclusion, setting precedents for Native American land dispossession, land rights disputes, and prolonged tensions between commercialism and environmental conservation.
