À propos de cet audio

An action-packed LitRPG Apocalypse perfect for fans of The Primal Hunter, Road to Mastery, and The Ten Realms.

In a world of countless enemies, Freddy's unique power will help him thrive.

Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman.

His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself in possession of 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

With every dead enemy, he becomes a bit stronger, a little wiser, and a lot more ruthless. And no matter how much damage he takes, he can always put himself back together. Physically, at least.

But on his path to power, after having to look at the rotting guts of archhuman society again and again, can his talent keep his mind and soul as pristine as his body?

Or will that part of him simply remain broken...

Experience the start of this action-packed LitRPG Adventure from Robert Blaise set two hundred years after a reality-altering apocalypse. Featuring a weak-to-strong Brawler MC who never backs down, a unique power system, apocalyptic elements and more!

Not as much of a slow burner as others say, I think it may seem slow for some because combat scenes are pretty rare

Not as slow as other comment make it seem

The book could have been amazing if the author took out 90% of the useless information in first half of the book and made it more interesting. The book was on the longer side but felt like a 7-hour book in terms of content. There is way too much politics and a complex system that is not very straight forward. It feels like it tries being a cultivation/ Modern era Litrpg.

Slow Burn

great book, just takes so long for action but the first book might be an opener and second is the action.

loved the book but it's a turtle

A lot of times when you see a story with a protagonists that gets stronger over time it is hard to keep it entertaining as the stakes and sales are so immensenand the power used so strong that you quickly loose interest but in this case the unique power the protagonist uses is strong but balanced and more importantly the world building makes sense and keeps the powers at play at an understandable level making it a very pleasant read.

A well balanced power progression story

mc starts off realistically nieve and grows in a very trial by fire way.
magic system is interesting. cultivation-ish but without all the woo woo, hungry hippo bs.

in the beginning the mc can be a bit annoying, but I think it frames his growth later on quite well.

very good

I'm a bit conflicted with this book. On one hand the idea is pretty interesting and is kind of well written, but on the other hand, there isn't really an objective overall, no real motivation anywhere? The story is also contracting itself or might be uneven in power, but we never get "the system" properly explained in terms of relative power so we never really know where to stand.

I'll give the second book a listen to see where it goes from there, but it might be the last.

Maybe a good start of a series?

it was an extremely slow burn. the last 6ish hours is what I wish the whole book was like. although it was a slow burn, it did a great job setting up in depth characters, and it left me with high hopes for the next book. if it continues like the end did, then I could see book two earning a 4 or 5 star review

high hopes for the next book

I like some of the book but it kinds just leads ya along with outrageous lack of info in some ways. then with more detail on training and how it works but does not come into play. by the end I like the MC.... but the book left me feeling frustrated. maybe I didn't understand the magic systems. and like any subject we don't understand it feeling really slow learning them.

interesting but frustrating

honestly this is more of a convoluted slice of life novel then an action litrpg.

You spend the entire book listening to Freddy be a punching bag and to top it off there is so little power/ability growth that I still don't understand the power system

The story is good and I like the direction but holy moose does it drag on. It is very much a step by step story and it can be pretty boring but I'm holding out hope that it gets better in book 2.

My biggest gripe is the narrator, I can not stand when they over perform and every third line (I'm exaggerating slightly) you have to listen to this dude obnoxiously laugh. in my opinion, this is not a dramatized version of the story and he could tone it down by like 60%

extremely slow burn with the entire book being about Freddy being a punching bag.

hello

this book spends more time on the home town politics and how stuck up nobles are and walking around his home town than farming leveling or even learning what the powers are, it is very convalotued and makes the other litrpgs like system apocalypse look even better because they actually get to the good part with 10 minutes. I listiened to the first half of this book and the main character did not even get to do a single battle .

don't waste your time

don't buy - BS slow pacing, horrible magic system
