Patrick C. Harrison III
À propos de cet audio
"What The One Minute Manager was to business, 100% Match is to relationships." (PC3 Books)
Bart is 30. He is bald. He is overweight. He wears glasses. He is a fry cook. He hates cats. And kids. Bart occasionally does very bad things. He is looking for his perfect match. He has done his research.
"Depraved, deranged, and blackly hilarious. PC3 does what he does best here, and doesn't hold back. I suspect 89.3% of you will love this story. The other 10.7% are humorless prudes." (Chris Miller, author of Dust and Dub-Town Blues)

"Vile, repulsive, and smart, with a kick-in-the-ass ending. You know, all the stuff we've come to love about PC3" (Rayne Havok, author of Necrosis)

"Get ready to squirm, cringe, and maybe even laugh! Patrick C. Harrison III's prose is as slick as it is sick, and 100% Match is one you won't want to miss. Especially if you're deranged and looking for love." (Judith Sonnet, author of No One Rides for Free)

"If you like your fiction sick and twisted, this one will be a 100% match for you. PC3 gives us a glimpse into the mind of the truly depraved, and despite the nature of spending time in such a nasty headspace, the story is entertaining as hell. Just don’t read it on a full stomach." (Robert Essig, author of The Circus Oasis and Tweaker Creatures)

Angel knows all about pain. His mother died in this room. He's researched its history. Today he's come back to end it, no matter the cost, once and for all. Shyla, a plus-sized escort, thinks the stories Angel tells her can't be true. Secrets so vile, you won't want to let them inside you. But the Lonely Motel doesn't forget. It doesn't forgive. And it always claims its victim.

These people will give anything for the idols they worship, be they rock stars, actors or authors. Or even serial killers. Lori is just such a fanatic. Her obsession is with Edmund Cox, a man of sadistic cruelty who butchered more than 20 women. She’s gone so far as to forge a relationship with him, visiting him in prison and sending him letters on a regular basis. She will do anything to get close to him, so when he gives her a task, she eagerly accepts it. She has no idea of the horror that awaits her.

Deep in the heart of Appalachia stands a crooked farmhouse miles from any road. The Morrows keep to themselves, and it's served them well so far. When girls go missing off the side of the highway, the cops don't knock on their door. Which is a good thing, seeing what's buried in the Morrows' backyard. But 19-year-old Michael Morrow isn't like the rest of his family. He doesn't take pleasure in the screams that echo through the trees.

Celeste Price is an eighth-grade English teacher in suburban Tampa. But Celeste's devotion lies elsewhere. She has a singular sexual obsession: 14-year-old boys. In slaking her sexual thirst, Celeste Price is remorseless and deviously free of hesitation, a monstress driven by pure motivation. She deceives everyone, and cares nothing for anyone or anything but her own pleasure. With crackling, rampantly unadulterated prose, Tampa is a grand, uncompromising, seriocomic examination of want and a scorching literary debut.

Histoire4.5 out of 5 stars 22
An ordinary family man, geologist, and Mormon, Soren Johansson has always believed he'll be reunited with his loved ones after death in an eternal hereafter. Then, he dies. Soren wakes to find himself cast by a God he has never heard of into a Hell whose dimensions he can barely grasp: a vast library he can only escape from by finding the book that contains the story of his life. In this haunting existential novella, author, philosopher, and ecologist Steven L. Peck explores a subversive vision of eternity.

Working at the local processing plant, Marcos is in the business of slaughtering humans - though no one calls them that anymore. His wife has left him, his father is sinking into dementia, and Marcos tries not to think too hard about how he makes a living. After all, it happened so quickly. First, it was reported that an infectious virus has made all animal meat poisonous to humans. Then governments initiated the "Transition". Now, eating human meat - "special meat" - is legal. Marcos tries to stick to numbers, consignments, processing.

Perfect voice over lol

Story is about a seemingly involuntarily celibate man seeking a serious relationship. He is deeply disturbed but able to hold himself together very well, and functions decently in everyday life. The protagonist is surprising intelligent and fascinated by statistics especially those about women. He uses these statistics to attempt to increase his chances of "finding a mate". These statistic range from the scent of body wash women to more demeaning examples such as blonde women on average being more likely to cheat.
Despite the protagonist being hygienic in attempts to attract a mate he often engages activities and behaviors that may I say statistically society would find abbroent such as smearing mucus on fast food burgers and feeding them to customers at hid work place; not out of frustration but just because. This is definitely the most tame example of his behaviors. Let's just say feces and urine are involved on more than one occasion and not necessarily work related.
Due to the shortness of the story you do not get a good picture of the world around the protagonist and consequences for his actions which is relatively sad considering the protagonist is actually rather interesting and I would've loved to know more about why he does the things he does whilst pursuing love.
Lacking Depth but a decent horror

CONTAINS VAGUE SPOILERS
The pros of the book include the absolutely fascinating marketing I had seen for this book, the plot, the twists, the gore.
A book that can evoke feelings such as happiness and excitement are common, throw a few cute cliches in a novel and that will most likely do it for many people. Where the true test lies is which author can make you squirm? Who can make you NEED to hit pause or put down the book for a moment to collect your thoughts? Patrick C. Harrison III can. The nonchalance of the book as well as the absolutely brilliant writing style of almost a diary makes the book feel all the more human and that makes it even more unsettling. While not a horror novel, 100% Match is a book that still successfully evokes a sense of dread in the reader, to do this, real talent is needed.
The plot itself is very casual, very day to day diary feel as mentioned previously. It is this exact kind of plot, with the subtle hint drops and confessions made with no regard for any worry which makes this book amazing. With the nonchalance in the plot and the casual pace, the twists become a mix of jarring as well as hidden. There were moments where I had to ask myself if I had in fact just heard what I think I did.
The gore in this book is not just blood. The body mutilation, animal cruelty, child cruelty and abuse in the book is disturbing and frankly just gross, however, I must give credit where credit is due, it is well written. No extra details for the extremely sensitive topics such as the animals and children, but just enough to get a point across.
The con I had with this book is the fact that it is just fucked up.
I had originally given the book 2 stars, but as I write this review, I understand that the way I was left disgusted and staring at a wall is proof of the success of the author. While I was in school for writing, it was drilled into me that the success of an author comes from how they can convey feelings and emotions to the reader.
Patrick C. Harrison III did an absolutely amazing job at making the reader (me, in this case) feel disgusted and disturbed and he should be recognized for that.
The violence in this book is messy, it's brutal and shocking, however, nothing is drawn out or added for the sake of adding words. Each word is deliberately picked and serves a purpose to propel the plot. The read is easy in terms of world building and plot as this is written as an everyday life for an 'average man.'
