Publisher's Summary

An academy that scrapes the sky. Blight that fills the earth. Two codgers duking it out.

Artorian has decided to live, all in order to save his lost village children. His recent battle against a simple raider captain has proven that if he tries to charge ahead...he'll die.

With the help of his captors, who quickly turn into close friends, Artorian takes the first steps onto the path of a true cultivator. Finesse, skill, fine-tuned cultivation techniques, and more is within his grasp. Artorian is more than willing to learn; after all, that's his specialty!

This knowledge has strings attached. After meeting the ancient enemy of his trainers, Artorian returns to the place he first studied his true passion of philosophy: the Skyspear. It's under new management, and the alumni have very different ideas about how the students should be trained.

Made Me Cry In the First Hour

I mean legit cry with tears and everything. Something very few books ever make me do. I was going to wait to review it until I finished it but come on. I’ll update this score if I need to once I finish it, but I really don’t think I’ll need to Update: ...nope

A must read if you were on the fence with Axiom!

If you didn't love Artorian at the end of the first book Axiom, you absolutely will by the end of Alumni. His quarks, flaws and curiosity all combine with his lovable nature perfectly for a lead protagonist. The story is split into two distinct parts, the first part with the wood elves was a little on the slow side and felt like a lot of set up but when the second part begins watch out! The build up from the beginning really pays off. I cannot wait to see if and how this series intersects with the main Divine Dungeon storyline, as well as which ascension path and cultivation Law Artorian ends up embodying. As mentioned, great sequel and I can't wait for Book 3!

Annoyingly Cutsie

A decent story but it was consistently ruined by overly cutsie narration. Way to much forced comedy that left me cringing. Story seemed overly rushed. Too many time jumps.

A great follow up

I'm really enjoying this series, it expands the universe, giving a different prospective on things that I think really works well. I also like that the main character is more chill than other MCs. I'm excited for the next book.
