Story
The Way to Love reveals that there is another way besides laborious self-pushing on the one hand and stagnant acquiescence on the other. It is the way of self-understanding. These things in you that you struggle to fix just need to be understood. If you understood them, they would change, and you would discover that here and now is all is well. Though everything seems a mess, all is well. You would discover that you are already happy and fulfilled right now, and always have been, though you don’t yet know it.

We were brainwashed by society into building our life on the unquestioned belief that without money, power, success, approval, romance, etc., we cannot be happy. Suppose there is a way of waking up from all that, where what is false and neurotic within you would drop with little or no effort on your part and your eyes would open to the reality of joy surrounding you. Here it is: Stop Fixing Yourself, the new book by Anthony De Mello that helps you rediscover the life you were meant to live.

To look without a concept is to be aware of the observer and the thing observed. 20 May 1967. Duration: 88 minutes. Violence and sorrow are not limited to the West or the East; they are parts of the human structure psychologically. Is it possible to bring about a change radically, a total revolution in the psyche itself, not through time? The first and last freedoms are when the mind is totally free from concepts and the mechanical process of building a formula.

"Believing that something is wrong with us is a deep and tenacious suffering," says Tara Brach at the start of this illuminating book. This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork - all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach's 20 years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students.

This, Thich Nhat Hanh explains, is the heart of Buddhist practice. In this introduction to the practice of presence, the beloved Buddhist teacher provides indispensable insight on the essentials of Buddhist thought and offers a range of simple, everyday practices for cultivating mindfulness.

Publisher's Summary
Awareness awakens you to the truth that you possess everything you need right now to be happy and fulfilled.
Happiness is your natural state. You don't need to do anything to acquire it; you only need to drop something. This audiobook shows you what that is. There is not a single person who ever gave time to being aware who’s quality of life didn't change.
You see life differently because you are different. You respond to people and situations differently. You see things you have never seen before. Beautiful things. You're much more energetic, much more alive. When you finally awake, you don't try to make good things happen; they just happen. You understand suddenly that everything that happens to you is good. You understand that all is well, even at times when things seem a mess. You discover that there is a loving force surrounding you at all times that is always within reach, always right here in your midst, making your life meaningful and beautiful and rich.

You can judge this book by its cover
Well, it’s exactly what the title says! I learned so much about awareness. You couldn’t keep this book out of my mouth when I was talking to friends, family etc. I learned so much from this quick witted, sharp tongued spiritual figure. I learned about this book from Tim Ferriss and I’m glad that I gave it a go.

A book to come back to again and again
I really loved the teachings and the stories in this book. It delivers invaluable lessons on how to live a good life. I found a lot of value in how the author talks about letting go of attachments. The audio quality wasn't great but I think that's because it was a recording of a live talk. So good that I bought a hardcopy halfway through the audio book because I want to go back and underline my favorite quotes!

Amazing presentation. So happy for the audio!
Reading the book was life changing. Anthony explains spiritual concepts that seem confusing when anyone else teaches them and makes them understandable and actionable. He is so full of joy and brings this important practice of awareness and its power to life with humor and clarity simultaneously . The book and the audio are a joy. I'm so happy for the audio because it infuses even more of his energy than the book allows. Same amazing content. Even more energy and accessibility for repeat "reading". Books like this I want to listen to again and again to learn at a deep level and apply it. I gain something new from every listen. Highly recommend the book and the audio. Thank you so much to the Anthony De Mello Center for making this audio available in Tony's voice. I was wishing for this!!

Spiritual Entertainment
I did not like this personally as I found the laughter of the audience in the background to be quite distracting. I also thought that the tone was a little too casual. The subject being discussed is a serious matter but this felt more like spiritual entertainment. People will be entertained and feel like they have understood something and then get back to their regular business. This is not what I am looking for. Spirituality for me, at this point in my life, is a matter of life and death.

Life changing
If you are looking for one work that covers everything you need to know about how to start improving yourself, look no further
This audio book is a recording of the author giving a series of lectures on awareness so you can hear the reaction of the audience (mostly laughter) and it feels more authentic than some audiobooks of the same topics.
Some other reviews have noted that listening to the author lecture was distracting but I think improved the experience.

Utter schlock
The usual mix of nonsense from a charlatan “guru”. You have a problem - you need to wake up. But I can’t tell you how, oh no, you have to realize it! It’s your fault if my utter nonsense makes no sense to you! And you must just have faith that the master has “woken up” because they say so.

A Searching for improvement miss.
He drones on and on to make his too long book even longer. By repeating information like “lose your desire for approval” doesn’t explain how to do that and leaves the listener wanting. His accent is very distracting. I’m disappointed in this audiobook.

Powerful book
« Awareness « is a book that at least 3 of my formators in personal development adviced me to read. Very powerful and essential book to read, a must. Simple and complex in the same time, it transmits clear messages.
