Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author Meghan March comes a story of untold truths and one man’s redemption in the Dirty Mafia Duet - available in audio first!

Every family has a black sheep. In the infamous Casso crime family, that black sheep is me - Cannon Freeman.

Except I’m not a free man. I’ve never been free. Not since the day I was born. I owe my loyalty to my father, Dominic Casso, even if he won’t publicly acknowledge me as his blood.

I’ve never had a reason to go against his wishes...until I met her.

Drew Carson turned my world upside when she walked into my club looking for a job.

Now, my honor and my life are on the line.

Going against my father’s wishes might buy me a bullet straight from his gun, but black sheep or not, it’s time to make my stand.

She's worth the fallout.

Love it

Love this book, the story is great and the narrators are amazing like usual. The five books before this I can't listen to. She changed the narrators and the female was so bad I only got to chapter 11 and I had to send it back. That and it seems to be writing for young teenagers. Was terrible. I've read all she has written in order. minus those 5 books, they are good and I enjoyed them.
I would definitely recommend this book.

F Word Why?

After the 20th F bomb I had begun to wish that I had listened to the preview. In hindsight perhaps that would not have revealed how many times the character uses the F bomb don’t get me wrong I can appreciate that the author is very likely trying to represent the characters authentically, but it has put me off of this author despite mainly enjoying the story. I have listened to nearly all of Meghan‘s novels but this has left me feeling a little gun shy and I might look for someone else to read in the meantime. And this trend from so many ‘romance type’ authors of splitting their novels into two and three parts is really boring.

I INHALED EVERY SINGLE EXCITING SECOND

I knew it was going to be great, I knew it was going to be perfectly narrated, I knew it was going to end on a thrilling cliffhanger and I knew White Knight (book 2) wouldn’t be out for a while.. but still I listened. That’s the power this author and these two narrators have over my willpower because I couldn’t resist their lure. It’s a gripping suspenseful Mafia romance with sizzling chemistry and a splash of sex.. and it won’t be a hardship listening to it again in a month or two.

Worth a credit? Yes I would’ve gladly used a credit on this climactic listen.. but it’s free on Audible’s Escape Package - and that folks is the cherry on top.

This book isn’t complete

This is half a book. It ends on a cliffhanger that is frustrating. It’s like a weekly soap opera. The character development is fine but both main characters aren’t that smart.

Holy hotness!

Squeel!!!!! You can not understand my excitement!!!
Heck yes because of one reason Cannon!!!! Holy hotness!
Sweet baby Jesus! Black Sheep is pure sin, sex, and full devilish! All wrapped up in a ravishing black bow!
Throw in a hot ton of twist turns with layers upon layers!
That just drives the storyline to new levels sending you over the edge!!!

Not to mention that audio performance by narrated by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York.
Which only brings your audio experience to a whole new level of hotness!!
Just be ready to have your ears burning with head and your body humming with joy!!!

Then boom a cliffhanger that will have your screaming at the top of your lungs!!!

3 1/2 stars for me

The story concept is nothing new, but still, it's always about the journey:) I did enjoy the book, perhaps I expected more because of all the high ratings. I found the h, who was supposed to be so smart and seasoned in her craft, unimpressive to say the least. The H is written so sweet, that of course we love him, but he doesn't seem like he's hardened at all by the life he has led, only fearful and knows what not to do. Their attraction was quick and they 'fell' for each other, super quickly. I mean life or death, life changing decisions after one date and a sleep over. Ok, I have read insta love before, but I never take it seriously, it's just fun fluff, and that is what this book is to me. I enjoyed it, I am mildly curious how the next part will go, but I will forget this very soon, nothing stands out or moved me.

Sexy and Intriguing Mafia Romance

Overall: 4 stars
Performance: 5 stars
Story: 3.5-4 stars

I'm not usually a huge fan of mafia romances, but Black Sheep surprised me in the best way! The story kept me intrigued and had me dying to see how everything would play out. I loved how driven and intelligent Cannon and Drew were, but that they both had very vulnerable sides too. It's instalust between them, but it still felt a bit like a slow burn thanks to the amazing sexual tension and chemistry. Meghan March really knows how to build up the anticipation! Gah! Cannon was Alpha with a capital A, but it was his tender side that had me sold. Andi Arndt is fantastic as Drew and Sebastion York couldn't be more perfect as Cannon. I love this narrating duo and they really are the gold standard in audiobook narration. The story is told in dual POV, but there are more Drew chapters, so the majority of the audio is narrated by Andi Arndt.

This is book 1 in the duet, so make sure you have book 2, White Knight, ready to go because that ending is a doozy!

Pleasantly Surprised

First of all, I’ll begin by saying this genre isn’t my go too but the reviews had me intrigued and I had to see what all the fuss was about. Great book, great narration and I’m hooked. Hats off to you, Ms. March.

Great, captivating read! I want more!

WHEW BOY! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book! I enjoyed the narrators letting the listeners FEEL this story. I really enjoyed how pieces of this story overlapped other books of Meghan's. And if you've never read other books, you just wouldn't know that the hidden gems are there. But I was very quickly lost in Cannon's and Drew's story. I liked how Meghan drops pieces of their histories in and gives the reader, just a little but you know there's more to it. I liked Drew's tenacity and the way she went after what she wanted. What she didn't expect was the full Cannon effect. The delicious chemistry between them and the way in which their relationship evolved was something neither of them expected. I was lost in their journey and HOLY BOMBSHELL.... Meghan brought it! I so can't wait for the next book. Be sure not to let this audio book pass you by!

Not Believable & Disappointing

I love Meghan March and was so looking forward to the release of this book. I am greatly disappointed. The female lead, is portrayed as a top notch investigative reporter yet she doesn't know how the mafia works?
She disguises herself, gets a job at one of their businesses and looks for evidence of who within the organization killed her dad. Seriously? Who doesn't know that the crime boss orders a hit. What is she looking for, a spreadsheet of who murdered whom? A smoking gun? A disloyal hitman who is willing to betray the family and confess his sins to the newly hired waitress?
The storyline is totally ridiculous and unbelievable. It is doubtful that I will finish the series.

One bright spot- both narrators are perfect as always.

Better than I ever expected, but Cliffhanger

I have read many such stories in this genre and they are usually pretty basic; entertaining, but nothing that you couldn't read another book in between before finishing. Not so this one to me at all.

I am so glad that I bought both the books in this case so I can immediately jump into the next one.

I wouldn't dream of putting this one down to finish later!

Cannon Freeman is the Black Sheep of the family.

First of all, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are the reason that I chose to listen to this! They're always so good in everything that they narrate, and they were once again flawless in this story.

This was my first Meghan March story and I loved the whole "crime family" feel to it. Cannon and Drew had intense chemistry from the beginning and their romance progressed quickly. Unlike many other listeners, the steamy romance was not my favorite part of the story; I was most interested what Drew was up to with her disguises and secrets, and I was curious about out how Cannon would react, knowing that he had been vulnerable and shared parts of his past with her. Throughout the whole story, I was just waiting for the big moment, and that feeling was both tortuous and delicious.

And then BOOM, the end! Oh lord, what a cliffhanger!!

I didn't realize when I started this was that Ms. March's books are so very interconnected! I noticed it when I was listening and looking at her website. While I didn't have any trouble following the story at all, it seems like I may have had a more full experience here if I had already met Cannon from previous stories. I still need to continue with the next installment though, because that cliffhanger was absolutely killer.
