Publisher's Summary

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both of those dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

Not a bad book.

Very entertaining. I look forward to Tina's next book, when she can or may share more. To be honest, occasionally throughout the book I felt like maybe it was just a promotion for 30 Rock. I truly enjoyed and appreciated Tina's depiction of her father. Totally worth the listen. Please write more, Tina.

Excellent Read

I was looking for a light read. This book was very witty and humorous. I love that it was narrated by Tina Fey. I enjoyed hearing about her childhood and some of the shows she been on. I’d set the timer at bedtime and then keep extending the time because it was so good. Highly recommend this book! #Audible1

Funny! Intelligent! Did I say funny?

Tina Fey makes me laugh! That is why I enjoyed this book. If you also want some advice on success, sexism in the workplace and parenting, read/listen to to book.

This is a fantastic book and made memorable by the way that Tina Fey reads it. I feel sorry for those who only have the print or ebook editions!

Waste of Money

Well I wanted something that would make me laugh, unfortunately this didn't do it. If i had a laugh about 3 times during the book, it's saying too much. Sorry Tina!, not my taste.

Meh

One of only a few Audible books I did not finish. Kept waiting for the funny parts. Then I turned it off.

Annoying!

I LOVE Tina Fey on 30 Rock and consider her acting to be first class. This book leaves me irritated and bored frankly: her childhood tales just aren't that interesting, and her performance is grating. I switched from listening to this to David Sedaris and felt immediate relief... made me realize that her humor is far more appropriate in a theatrical/TV ensemble setting.

Very boring.

The only good thing about the book is that it was relatively short. I don't think I could stand another minute of it. I might of smiled once.

Meh

Love Tina Fey but was disappointed with this book. Her narration, while expressive and enjoyable, contained so many sotto voce asides where the volume dropped off so much that it was difficult to hear, therefore I frequently missed portions of the material the first time around. I ended up having to skip backward and turn up the volume to hear those parts - very frustrating. Also, based on other reviews I was expecting laugh-out-loud funny, but this didn't deliver. If you like Tina, you'll like this; amusing, but not a "must read."

Bossy and presumtuous

What disappointed you about Bossypants?

Something about Tina Fey bothers me. I don't like the way she prejudges people's intentions or actions. For example, she has people sorted into types as to how they ask about her scar. Hers comes from and act of violence and she must assume that everybody who asks her about, must know this already. Sure, now they do but probably a lot of people didn't. Not all scarring is a delicate subject though. My cousin has a similar scar from running into a tree branch while playing in the yard. I am sorry that we aren't all programmed to meet her criteria for behaviors acceptable to her terms. This is the way she is all the way through the book.

Has Bossypants turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tina Fey?

Really?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

For a Tina Fey fan it is a window into her life and attitudes.

Disappointment

What disappointed you about Bossypants?

If you are not from the USA don't buy this book. Half of the things she was talking about I could not understand.

I bought this book based on the positive reviews it has but it is so bad that I could not finish it.

She talks about her life which is not really that interesting, it's very boring actually, but she tries to make it funny. I did laugh at any point.

She also talks very fast, it's like she is in a hurry to finish the book.

The book is a big disappointment.

Not very interesting

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I returned the book because I just could attach emotionally to her story

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was fine, the material was not

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Bof.
