Story
From the New York Times best-selling author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and Get Your Sh*t Together comes more straight talk about how to stand up for who you are and what you really want, need, and deserve - showing when it's okay to be selfish, why it's pointless to be perfect, and how to be "difficult". Being yourself should be easy, yet too many of us struggle to live on other people's terms instead of our own. Rather than feeling large and in charge, we feel little and belittled.

In Everthing Is F*cked, Mark Manson turns his gaze from the inevitable flaws within each individual self to the endless calamities taking place in the world around us. Drawing from the pool of psychological research on these topics, as well as the timeless wisdom of philosophers such as Plato, Nietzsche, and Tom Waits, he dissects religion and politics and the uncomfortable ways they have come to resemble one another. He looks at our relationships with money, entertainment, and the internet, and how too much of a good thing can psychologically eat us alive.

Not for Me
I am no stranger to the use of foul language. However, the author's constant and repeated use of this type of language actually detracted from her message. Moreover, insofar as actually helpful information regarding coping strategies, this was either absent, or I missed this information entirely. Either way, this does not speak to the notion that this is a well-written book. I kept thinking that the book was written in a fashion quite similar to what one sees with so-called click-bait on the web. Keep on clicking (in this case listening), and I will start telling you how to manage stress and stressful situations. Unfortunately this was not even the case.
I did not find this book useful at all and in fact found the book itself annoying!

LOVE IT!
I have bought all 4 of her books (audiobooks) and I really enjoy listening to them. I think the advise is good, practical and delivered in a fun way. I think Sarah has done a great job of being the narrator of her books as this makes the books even more enjoyable and gives it an extra personal touch! Listening to her audiobooks feels like listening to a friend giving you advise - there's some chuckles, laughs and eye rolling involved BUT also a few things to really think about and take to heart! Can't wait for the next book!

Very Entertaining
I am not an overly anxious or stressed out person, but I recently experienced a level of anxiety I had never gone through before. This book is not for people who have a chronic or medical problem with anxiety. But it can help someone with periods of higher levels of stress who want to learn to deal with it in a concrete step-by-step method kind of way.

Sarah made big changes most of us can't afford
Sarah had a funny delivery and kept me entertained, but I wouldn't say I have transformed as a person.
Her premise is simple: when you get wound up - calm the F down. What she will also tell you is she lives in the Caribbean and leads a much different life than the average North America. I'm not faulting her, just re-iterating that it's hard to relate to someone on island time when deadlines are real and stress cannot be avoided.
Honestly, it was funny and one of the more common sense self-help books I've heard - just don't expect to come out the other end a brand new person.

Waste of time
It’s not helpful. It’s just stories about her misfortunes and about her adventures that get in the way of her drinking.
Greatly disappointing.
And truly what was the point of the book? Except her trying to sell her other books by constantly referring to them?

Cute but lacks substance
I tried to listen to the whole book. I really did. Unfortunately, behind the sarcasm, humor, cute and self-promotional comments that make up most of this book, the simplistic advice that was left was just that, simplistic. This style of the author would make a great and entertaining keynote but that’s about it. Thumbs down from me.

Highly enjoyed this book
This book is reasonable and pragmatic in approach. I had a series of major blows in 2018 including injury, relationship, and career that left me often waking in the middle of the night with panic attacks. I found this book very helpful in reclaiming perspective and refocusing my energies in productive ways. Crating my emuppies has become one of my go to lines. And categorizing my storms has been one of the most helpful tactics so far. Sarah is a funny lady. I’ve found myself laughing out loud several times throughout the book. I enjoyed this book so much I decided to grab another by her.
I noticed another review mentioned that she slams Trump. I agree political jabs in either direction have grown old, but she might have a total of 3 witty, quick, sentences about him in the entire book, easily dismissive for the greater content! It really does not have a political undertone to it at all so don’t let that dissuade you.

This book was genuinely helpful, I like the casual listening style of this book and the comedic approach also. As I made it to about the middle of the book there were certain things that really did help me release past stresses and worries and also current worries,so along with being funny this book is actually helpful in terms of accomplishing what it is designed to do which is to give you a new way of looking at issues worries and problems. I hate most audio books because they’re read in such a passive voice but Sarah was funny and engaging and I was actually interested in listening to it. I thought her advice was very helpful and I learned a lot about my anxious habits and how to improve them. I’d definitely recommend this one!
