Not for Me

I am no stranger to the use of foul language. However, the author's constant and repeated use of this type of language actually detracted from her message. Moreover, insofar as actually helpful information regarding coping strategies, this was either absent, or I missed this information entirely. Either way, this does not speak to the notion that this is a well-written book. I kept thinking that the book was written in a fashion quite similar to what one sees with so-called click-bait on the web. Keep on clicking (in this case listening), and I will start telling you how to manage stress and stressful situations. Unfortunately this was not even the case.

I did not find this book useful at all and in fact found the book itself annoying!

LOVE IT!

I have bought all 4 of her books (audiobooks) and I really enjoy listening to them. I think the advise is good, practical and delivered in a fun way. I think Sarah has done a great job of being the narrator of her books as this makes the books even more enjoyable and gives it an extra personal touch! Listening to her audiobooks feels like listening to a friend giving you advise - there's some chuckles, laughs and eye rolling involved BUT also a few things to really think about and take to heart! Can't wait for the next book!

Very Entertaining

I am not an overly anxious or stressed out person, but I recently experienced a level of anxiety I had never gone through before. This book is not for people who have a chronic or medical problem with anxiety. But it can help someone with periods of higher levels of stress who want to learn to deal with it in a concrete step-by-step method kind of way.

useful and entertaining

I absolutely love it, having anxiety and worries myself, I found this book extremely useful, gave me some news tools to help keep myself calm. plus I love how she is blunt and the swearing just makes it a more easy going book. definitely recommend listening to it

Brutally Honest and Hilarious!!!

Anxiety is a hard card to be dealt but Knight does a FANTASTIC job of keeping things light while addressing real issues with real solutions.

10/10 suggest you give it a read!

Sarah made big changes most of us can't afford

Sarah had a funny delivery and kept me entertained, but I wouldn't say I have transformed as a person.

Her premise is simple: when you get wound up - calm the F down. What she will also tell you is she lives in the Caribbean and leads a much different life than the average North America. I'm not faulting her, just re-iterating that it's hard to relate to someone on island time when deadlines are real and stress cannot be avoided.

Honestly, it was funny and one of the more common sense self-help books I've heard - just don't expect to come out the other end a brand new person.

Loved it

I love anything from Sarah Knight. I feel I finally found books that actually help. Maybe it’s the way my brain works but I loved every minute of it. Took a lot away as well.

Highly enjoyed this book

This book is reasonable and pragmatic in approach. I had a series of major blows in 2018 including injury, relationship, and career that left me often waking in the middle of the night with panic attacks. I found this book very helpful in reclaiming perspective and refocusing my energies in productive ways. Crating my emuppies has become one of my go to lines. And categorizing my storms has been one of the most helpful tactics so far. Sarah is a funny lady. I’ve found myself laughing out loud several times throughout the book. I enjoyed this book so much I decided to grab another by her.

I noticed another review mentioned that she slams Trump. I agree political jabs in either direction have grown old, but she might have a total of 3 witty, quick, sentences about him in the entire book, easily dismissive for the greater content! It really does not have a political undertone to it at all so don’t let that dissuade you.

Disappointed

I purchased this book because I am currently in crisis. While getting ready for work this morning I decided to start listening. Within the first 20 minutes or so of the narration, Sarah, not so thinly veiled, slams President Trump. "In an election of monumental consequence, millions of people cast their vote for an ingrown toenail in a cheap red hat" (yes, I had to listen to that twice to be sure of what I heard.) I chose this book so I can continue to move forward from my situation, not to listen to nasty negative slams on the administration. I cannot watch any news without the hate, I cannot participate in social media without being barraged with hate and I didn't expect it from a self help book.I am hopeful that audible will refund my credit so I can make better selection. As a side note: Rachel Hollis' "girl wash your face" is wildly popular. Everyone that I know that has read it, both liberal and conservative friends, loved it! Here's a thought. She didn't bring politics into her story!

Waste of time

It’s not helpful. It’s just stories about her misfortunes and about her adventures that get in the way of her drinking.
Greatly disappointing.
And truly what was the point of the book? Except her trying to sell her other books by constantly referring to them?

Just do yourself a favor and don’t.

Sarah Knight is a Treasure

This is the fourth audiobook of Sarah’s that I have listened to. Her books are like visiting a good friend you haven’t seen in a while. Her books are helpful and inspiring - and I LOVE that she swears. I even appreciate it. I love her books - this one came at a time I really needed it. I highly recommend this book!

Cute but lacks substance

I tried to listen to the whole book. I really did. Unfortunately, behind the sarcasm, humor, cute and self-promotional comments that make up most of this book, the simplistic advice that was left was just that, simplistic. This style of the author would make a great and entertaining keynote but that’s about it. Thumbs down from me.

call it what you want

I just could not continue taking advice from someone who is overreacting about petty things in her vacation style life on a tropical island. I have more serious struggles.

Dont waste your time...

Overly simple with spurts of cute bad language and a catchy title. Could not even finish this. Cute marketing at its best but no meat on the pages.

I wanted so hard to like this

I love the objective of this book- there are so many helpful tips and insights contained in it and I was really trying to soak it all in, but the persistent political commentary and jabs really turned me off. I understand that the author and myself might not share the same views, but in a book that is supposed to help people be their best self, the amount of negativity repeated made me feel like they were becoming personal attacks. If it was once, maybe twice, OK, but it got old after a while and I could not even finish this. Joke is on me though, the author already has my money. I wish the author could have separated her views from the subject matter, but she cannot, and that is a big turn off.

Genuinely helpful

This book was genuinely helpful, I like the casual listening style of this book and the comedic approach also. As I made it to about the middle of the book there were certain things that really did help me release past stresses and worries and also current worries,so along with being funny this book is actually helpful in terms of accomplishing what it is designed to do which is to give you a new way of looking at issues worries and problems. I definitely recommend the listen and read.
