Does it seem like everything is moving so fast these days you can barely keep up? Do you sometimes feel that your life is spinning out of control? Most of us are so overwhelmed by the stuff in our daily lives -- work, bills, family commitments, demands from our kids' schools -- that we rush from person to person and place to place. For many of us, life feels completely out of balance because we give one area of our lives too much attention and the other areas nowhere near enough.

Everywhere around you are distractions: That text you respond to quickly, just to get it out of the way. The newest money-making side hustle to cross your mind. The evening spent organizing your overflowing kitchen cupboards. Disruptions are the enemies of a life well lived—both the new distractions of our generation and timeless ones that have existed for centuries. They all add up to make you feel restless, tired, and unfulfilled. They’re keeping you from living with joy, from accomplishing the good that only you can do.

If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

Heartwarming and practical
I found myself drawn into the people’s stories that were shared, and the tips/guidance applicable across so many contexts (moving, closing down/clearing out a home, downsizing, decluttering, etc). Very relatable on many levels, even if some of the situations aren’t what you might be dealing with at the time. It’s helpful to think of all of this in a holistic way as you work at adopting a (perhaps) new/evolved mindset. We all- at some point or another- can benefit from contemplating the advice offered. I also appreciated the author narrating- always better in my opinion. And, his emphasis on our emotions being valid, which is so important - and great to come from a male, along with his personal sharing. I have personally been involved in 5 moves/clear outs/transitions in these past 3 years, and am overloaded with stuff, losses, emotions, etc, so this content is certainly going to help! Thanks
