Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. Not a lot of detail.
Some interesting stories, just not very detailed. It moves very quickly from one myth to the next. The narrator does a good job with what he has to work with. Overall it was good but left me wanting more.

*Breton* Myth
Having some knowledge of Celtic mythology, I thoroughly enjoyed the sections on Irish, Scottish, and Welsh myth. However, the sections on Breton myth were lacking, particularly for interceltic mythic influences. And, why the author chose to use the irritating nomenclature of “Brittany myth” rather than the more accurate Breton myth (with its fear *Brythonic* influences) is a mystery to me. Otherwise, the performance was excellent, with the narrator being respectful of accurate pronunciation.

Wonderful
I truly enjoyed this book and narrator. It was very thorough in getting as many myths and creatures as it could. I have always enjoyed Irish, Celtic, and Welsh mythology and this was no exception. A must read.

wonderful!
I really appreciated that they'd say the name of the god/goddesses, reading celtic names without knowing Gaelic can be a challenge and hearing the pronunciation helped a lot.
