Great story and voice acting. No heresy here.

A very captivating story of a commissar who desire to survive throughout the conflict the imperium of man. Without soiling the name of the great Man Emperor. Worth to check other books about Commissar Cain.

good not great

the book is written and narrated in a weird faux third person. the narrator reads a auto biography.
the style just isn't for me, it's good but kills it for me.

A refreshing and fun story for the 40k Universe

Ciaphas is a great protagonist, and Sandy Mitchell breathes fresh levity into the 40k universe. With so many of the books being focused on maintaining a very grim atmosphere, reading a story that managed to be consistently funny without compromising the feel of the universe was notable and refreshing. cant wait to continue with this series.

Fantastic performance

Love the narration of the book.
The narrators have managed beautifully to bring Caiaphas' and Amberly' voice to life.

Hilariously human hero

A very entertaining story told by excellent narrators. Many moments of true human "heroism" made me chuckle. The commisar's self-preservation is always his first and only concern, but in an ironic way, his subordinates perceive it as heroism. He is a comic character in an otherwise brutal universe.
