À propos de cet audio
With over 10 million copies sold, The Expanse has become one of the biggest science fiction phenomenons of the decade. The fourth book in the NYT bestselling Expanse series, Cibola Burn sees the crew of the Rocinante on a new frontier, as the rush to colonize the new planets threatens to outrun law and order and give way to war and chaos.
Now a Prime Original series.
HUGO AWARD WINNER FOR BEST SERIES
Enter a new frontier.
"An empty apartment, a missing family, that's creepy. But this is like finding a military base with no one on it. Fighters and tanks idling on the runway with no drivers. This is bad juju. Something wrong happened here. What you should do is tell everyone to leave."
The gates have opened the way to a thousand new worlds and the rush to colonize has begun. Settlers looking for a new life stream out from humanity's home planets. Ilus, the first human colony on this vast new frontier, is being born in blood and fire.
Independent settlers stand against the overwhelming power of a corporate colony ship with only their determination, courage, and the skills learned in the long wars of home. Innocent scientists are slaughtered as they try to survey a new and alien world. The struggle on Ilus threatens to spread all the way back to Earth.
James Holden and the crew of his one small ship are sent to make peace in the midst of war and sense in the midst of chaos. But the more he looks at it, the more Holden thinks the mission was meant to fail.
And the whispers of a dead man remind him that the great galactic civilization that once stood on this land is gone. And that something killed it.

Persisting issues with everyone's dialogue sounding same-y. "you can't do that" "oh but I really can". "we need to get out of here" "oh we really do".
The best examples of people having unique voices - Bobby and Avasarala are only in the prologue and epilogue and it's especially refreshing to hear Avasarala's internal dialogue in the epilogue.
Anyways this book is just constant tension from about the half way point and does not let up until the end. New Terra is awful and terrifying. Murtry is a menacing antagonist and I look forward to seeing him in the TV show

Good but not Great

As always, Holden and his crew are absolute joys. They are the definition of found family, willing to do anything for each other. We learn a little more about some of them, Alex in particular, and it only endeared them to me more.
The new characters continue to be complex and compelling. From a scientist pushing herself too hard, to a father rebelling for what he believes in only to relive the horror of his choice, to a soldier who comes to learn his idols may be more flawed than not.
Character growth has always been key to these books and I loved how fresh everything felt. The same can be said for the plot (which is more sciency this time around), and the world building. Things continue to, well, expand, into cosmic territory. The tension is a steady climb until the very end, making my heart skip multiple times. The plotting and writing are so strong, making for an excellent reading experience.
I’m still completely hooked on the EXPANSE and am eager to see where the Roci and her crew go next! Big things are coming!
Another Great Expanse Book!
