Publisher's Summary

The Bible. You've heard of it, yes? Maybe something about David and Goliath or Noah’s ark, or a baby in a manger? What if I told you there were tons of stuff in the Bible that you’ve never heard about? Things like talking donkeys, self-conscious magicians, and kings who think they’re cows. The Bible is a curious book full of deeply flawed people and a God who refuses to give up on them. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself.

In these 60 devotions, we examine these unique stories, the circumstances and biblical truth around them, and what they reveal about the heart of God.

a devotional at reignited a passion for the Bible

I find a lot of the traditional Bible devotionals feel very sameish going through the same motions, pulling out very similar messages using the same Bible verses over and over again. it all felt very surface level. Because of that when I read a devotional it seems a lot less engaging and a lot less genuine. and I feel like I'm doing God and myself a disservice by being ungenuine after all we are to worship our Lord in spirit and in truth. I found myself just longing for something a little bit deeper and to engage me more than just doing something out of due diligence.

to be honest made me feel like I was a worse Christian, like something might be wrong with my faith. like something might be wrong with me.

enter the curiosities and uncommon sense of the Bible devotional. Bible verses that I forgot were in there highlighted and given new light and New Life. I find myself getting excited not only read my devotional but to read my scripture be active in prayer and share with others what I had been learning and laughing with in this devotional book. it helped me develop a deeper appreciation for those less known Bible verses and because of that my Bible as a whole.
