If fantasy is up your alley this is a great opening book to a new series. Heath Miller is a great narrator. The main protagonist isn’t a great person, rather flawed and imperfect, it’s refreshing to have a main character that has flaws and isn’t your typical virtuous hero. Can’t wait for more in this series.

Fantastic story, it's like if a DM who was sick of everyone play druids as passive tree huggers wrote The Count of Monte Cristo! Add in amazing narration and this is a book you'll lose yourself in for hours!

Fantastic story, and narration. I did not expect the plot to essentially be that of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas with a twist but that is what it seems to be. That being said it is magnificent and more than different enough than The Count of Monte Cristo that it is clearly its own story just heavily influenced.

Went in expecting less than nothing and then binged the whole book in a day. One of those reads where I got physically angry when I checked and the sequel wasn't out yet.Nice to read a theiving smooth talker who solves most problems with his head rather than a blade. Not afraid to cheat or lie and has some pretty understandable trust issues...and yet he's not...angsty..or brooding...hes more DRIVEN and DETERMINED. A druid is also a cool power to explore for a character im getting tired of all the void/shadow/chaos/berserkers nowadays.

Nothing revolutionary but it was definitely worth the credit.

I was skeptical at first but the Mc is likeable and the story is great, dark sense of humor but not meant for sensitive people. awesome use of a druid class and revenge story. highly recommended
