Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo comes an all-new audio production read by Julia Whelan, including a bonus conversation with Julia Whelan and Taylor Jenkins Reid, recorded exclusively for this edition.

“Have you ever heard of supernovas? They shine brighter than anything else in the sky and then fade out really quickly, a short burst of extraordinary energy. I like to think you and Ben were like that . . . in that short time, you had more passion than some people have in a lifetime.”

Elsie Porter is an average twentysomething and yet what happens to her is anything but ordinary. On a rainy New Year’s Day, she heads out to pick up a pizza for one. She isn’t expecting to see anyone else in the shop, much less the adorable and charming Ben Ross. Their chemistry is instant and electric. Ben cannot even wait twenty-four hours before asking to see her again. Within weeks, the two are head over heels in love. By May, they’ve eloped.

Only nine days later, Ben is out riding his bike when he is hit by a truck and killed on impact. Elsie hears the sirens outside her apartment, but by the time she gets downstairs, he has already been whisked off to the emergency room. At the hospital, she must face Susan, the mother-in-law she has never met—and who doesn’t even know Elsie exists.

Interweaving Elsie and Ben’s charmed romance with Elsie and Susan’s healing process, Forever, Interrupted will remind you that there’s more than one way to find a happy ending.

Complete absence of conflict. Snore.

I’ve devoured other books by this author, but this one is a dud. I waited waaaaay too long for a conflict to be established, and it just never really did. It really is about grieving a six month relationship and claiming to be a widow. I was just praying for the mother-in-law to be evil or the best friend to have had a secret affair with the husband. Nope. Just day to day grief.

I listened to most of this book while gardening. Important topic with a twist. I was a good east listen.

Moving story of living and loving

One of those books where I’m thankful to know these characters for the briefest of moments and I will remember them fondly for a long time for sharing their experiences.

Snooze fest

The story was just too sappy for me. I found the characters were just too whiny and self absorbed. The love story became stale very quickly,

Nice read

The book was okay, it wasn’t my favourite of hers. The end dragged out a bit

Heartbreaking and heartwarming

You want to cry and swoon at the same time. Great characters and story. I love the narrator I think she’s probably an actor as well.

Good if you’re experience grief, too sappy if you’re not.

I can see this being very cathartic if you’re currently grieving a loss, however I found it to be very sappy and overly dramatic.
Usually I can’t put Taylor Jenkins Reid’s down, but I found this one a bit difficult to get through.

Nothing happened

Nothing much happened in this book and I’m not sure what the point of the story was. Not as good as her other books

Hard storyline which yanks at your heart strings

This story was at times shocking and also tender and kind. Loss of love in any form cannot be judged or imagined by others. Elsie comes to terms with hers in a very eloquent way. Not everyone can have this luxury but Jenkins Reid helps show us how in this story. I enjoyed it very much.

Eloquent story about dealing with death of a loved one

Truly a masterpiece- I could hardly put it down. I laughed and cried throughout the story. The narrator is wonderful.
