Lala (Lauren) did an amazing job articulating her story through the VPRs decades. The back story to her youth also gives a lot of clarity as to how she has to have her two personalities to function in society. Her revolution of going into AA was honest and brutal.
We need a follow up now that life has changed for her and Ocean so much.

An amazing young woman with an amazing story, making her way through a tough world. Her open and honest share of personal life seasons only strengthens her and allows us into her journey and struggles and joys. Her amazing personality shines through, there is no question she is a lava cake! Sweet and lovely within, and strong, beautiful and powerful on the outside. Nothing about her or her personality needs repair… this girl is smart and destined for greater things. I loved her book. I think becoming a mom has perfected her even more, and will continue to do so. And yes I know I spelled cake wrong. It needed to be spelled special just like her:)

As some one who has lost a parent, struggled with drinking and trying to recover, this book resonates with me. It lets you know you're not alone and keep looking forward - it's a journey... and look at Lala today! truly inspirational and Lala does a great job narrating. Every time I got on my car to work I couldn't wait to hear the next chapter. Thank you for this book!

Inspiring and motivating

The biggest thing I can say about this book is that when you see the quote about “everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about” you can think of this, and remind yourself that we all have our demons. Honestly, I’ve always had a soft spot for Lala but I’d get frustrated at how deep the shade could be at times, but hearing her side & her heart, it makes a lot more sense when it comes to some behaviour & I’ve got that much more respect for her now. So happy you’ve found some peace and happiness in your life.
