Happy Days: Hopeful and Helpful

I really enjoyed listening to Gabrielle Bernstein's book Happy Days. I feel seen, heard and encouraged. I see my own story in a lot of her experiences and traumas. In fact, in listening to the Audible version, I felt as if I had a sister guiding me through some challenging parts of my own experiences, fears and self-perception/protection... And that is key. In reading Happy Days I didn't feel alone, I could hear and feel the support coming through my headphones. I found greater self-compassion.

I think Happy Days is a really relevant and important book to share, especially with those in your inner circle. I've read her other books and I think this book stands alone. She offer's some really helpful tools to help you recognize where you are now and how to find the path out of fear into happier and brighter days ahead.

Beautiful and inspiring.

I loved Gabrielle‘s voice in general it was so soothing to listen to. I was a little unsure of the spiritual parts at first but I really leaned into these and really appreciated her approach. This book is great for those recovering from trauma as well as those looking to start recovery. Gabrielle references some amazing material that I have read previously and I really appreciated her connection to other healing books. I definitely recommend this book and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Best book of its kind!

I have read several recommended books on the topics of anxiety, depression and PTSD among others. Books by great authors like Burns, Levine and Kahn, Not only does this book wrangle together what I consider the most important information from the aforementioned but it also provides more insight and a great thread to piece everything together. All of the content in the book was very agreeable, believable and helped me to the core. And yes it does challenge you once in a while. You might even want to take notes because it is exploding with so much helpful insight! If I was to recommend any book on the topic, it would clearly be this one by a long shot.

Not a weekend read.

Take your time with this book and allow it to sink in. This book will trigger your deepest wounds. I was worried and had to pause half way through. Concerned that I wouldn’t know what to do to deal with the trauma that is brought up. Stay with it, it took me about a month to complete and get to the end. I think that time was necessary to dwell with my thoughts and allow memories to pop up and rap with them one by one. If you’re ready to do the work and start healing, this is your ticket.

Raw and healing, with a great lady leader

Awesome voice w vivid relatablilty and practical teachingas to apply:) Explain big t and little T trauma, the 4 S's that we seek if we arent parented right and our different layers like protectors help me understand myself and world better!
