Publisher's Summary
Number One Globe and Mail Best Seller
Join the movement. Ditch the diet.
Who's ready to stop thinking about weight loss? To free their brain from thoughts about ketones, calories, and fasting? Who wants life to be more effortless, energetic, and empowered?
Welcome to a refreshing and gloriously unapologetic conversation about health, fitness, and habits. Award-winning trainer Oonagh Duncan cuts through the wellness clutter to drop some truth bombs: It might not be six-pack abs you're looking for - it might be happiness, confidence, and acceptance. But if losing your belly is what you want, don't let anyone - including yourself - stop you from going after it. And she'll show you how to make it happen.
There's only one major difference between those rare unicorns who have managed to lose weight and the rest of us: their habits. When you acknowledge that following a diet is not getting you anywhere, and you make a few small changes to your everyday routine, you'll find yourself happier and healthy as f--k.
What the critics say
“A no-BS guide to looking and feeling your best that doesn’t make you want to cry into a salad? Hell yes! Healthy as F*ck is a different kind of weight-loss book - because it’s not just about dropping pounds; it’s about dropping judgment. Hilarious and legitimately inspiring. I loved it.” (Sarah Knight, New York Times best-selling author of Calm the F*ck Down)
“I love Oonagh’s ability to cut through the crap and communicate simple, livable ways to eat healthy, exercise, and create new sustainable habits in a clear and direct way!” (Harley Pasternak, New York Times best-selling author of The Body Reset Diet)
“Oonagh Duncan is smart, to the point, and will make you laugh, but most importantly Healthy as F*ck provides some foundational habits and strategies to help you make lasting, long-term changes for your well-being.” (Michael Greger, MD, Founder of NutritionFacts.org, and New York Times best-selling author of How Not to Die)

A F*cking Blessing of a Book
I picked up this (audio)book while already well advanced in my "get healthier" process. I had already lost about 60 pounds, from 249 to 187.
This book reinforced the approach I had slowly transitioned too: you have to develop enjoyable healthy habits in order to make your fitness and overall health sustainable and a lifestyle.
This book helped me transitioning towards what I want for ME and understand that health is a feeling and not a number on a scale.
I could write all day about this book, it is amazing. I also thank the author for sharing relatable thoughts and ideas that helped unfog my brain.
Also, although this book is written and addressed to women, I never felt once that, as a man, something in the book didn't apply. I don't care if you are a guy and a total bro. Get this f*cking book if you are aiming towards being one highly healthy mother***er!
The author told me I was slowly blossoming into a beautiful woman.
God damn right I am!

Game changer
As a 20 something that was an avid crossfiter and Olympic lifter this book was a game changer for me. I was used to yo-yoing between super fit and impeccable routines to no motivation, time, energy and gaining weight. This Audiobook helped me hone in on why staying fit with "the look" I wanted was difficult to maintain and how to reach my real goals.

Very geared toward middle aged moms
Although I loved the overall tone, it was hard to get passed the fact that the target audience is not only obvious but heavily referenced. I get that it's a self help book for weight loss and healthy living. It's just that I'm a 28 year old woman with no children. I haven't been seeking the weight loss secret for 10+ years. I don't give myself all day every day to my family. Maybe I'm in the minority here, that's okay. I just had to work a little harder to connect with the message. I will say, I love that Oonagh is a child of the 70s/80s because I love all the retro references and the playlists are amazing. I just wish they were on spotify and not Google music, though. Oh well!

Her goals to assist people in achieving their healthy lifestyle, is valid. We are made up of habits. Finding their triggers, assessing how they affect us, and treating them is key.
Her ability to identify these through story and example is extremely entertaining and hits the spot in so many ways.
