Story
Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can't move. She can't speak. She can't open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn't remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?

Ava only left her daughter in the pushchair for five minutes. The buckle was fastened, and she was sure it was safe. But when she came downstairs, the door was open and Abi was gone - she walked down the road, past the Lovegoods' house, and was never seen again. Publisher's Summary
From the New York Times best-selling author of Sometimes I Lie.
"Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine give an arresting performance of this dark psychological thriller.... As secrets are uncovered and additional bodies are found, Armitage and Racine shine with impeccable pacing, building tension that adds to the suspense." (AudioFile Magazine)
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying.
When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.
Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.
His & Hers is a twisty, smart psychological thriller. A gripping tale of suspense, told by expertly drawn narrators that will keep listeners guessing until the very end.
A Macmillan Audio production from Flatiron Books
"[A] cunningly constructed psychological thriller.... This is a masterpiece of misdirection." (Publishers Weekly, starred review)
"Feeney offers a brilliant cat-and-mouse game...[a] volatile, tension- and thought-provoking mix." (Booklist)
What the critics say
"No one can plot - or write - a story like Alice Feeney. His & Hers is a stunning, addictive novel that makes you wonder who you can trust - if anyone. Captivating from beginning to end, this book should not be missed!" (Samantha Downing, best-selling author of My Lovely Wife)
"Feeney does it again! His & Hers is a twisty dual-narrative that gives Gone Girl a run for its money and leaves you wondering if you can trust anyone. I couldn't stop reading." (Christina Dalcher, best-selling author of Vox)
“The twists pile up...visceral and haunting.” (Oprah.com)

Rollercoaster
This book is an absolute rollercoaster. I spent a long time being smug about having figured out who the perpetrator was. In fact, I was feeling slightly condescending towards the author for making it too easy. LOL. Then the last quarter of the book has so many twists and turns that every time you think you may know what is happening, you're slammed with another heart-racing twist and you honestly have no idea who is innocent and who is guilty. The answers aren't fully revealed until the last three chapters but in the meantime, buckle up for a bumpy ride!

Implausible, ridiculous plot
I’m absolutely astounded that this book has received such stellar reviews. The plot is so ridiculously implausible it borders on laughable. Thin on sympathetic characters and loaded with mean-girl cliches in the extreme, the teenage versions of Anna’s school friends are like cartoon villains, and not remotely nuanced or believable. For readers who value believable plots, don’t waste your time or money on His & Hers. It reads more like a violent fantasy than mystery. In fact, it was so boring and implausible that I had to skip the last half of the book and read a spoiler plot summary to confirm what I suspected mid way: this book was going to have such a ridiculous ending, I’d be angry if I had wasted my time finishing it. And I was right! Don’t waste your money.

The story was good the narration was not.
This book was narrated as if it was a play, instead of a novel. An overly dramatic reading distracts from the story. I almost stopped listening to this book, even though I was quite interested in the outcome of the mystery.

Twists and Turns Everywhere
From the first Chapter to the last, this book was twisting and turning.
The story is told from three POV; Anna Andrews; Jack Harper and the Killer. Each tells their version of events, but what is the whole truth. They all have secrets and some of those secrets are what bring the killer to task.
I couldn't stop listening to this story because I needed to find out who did it. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine were perfect in their roles.
P.S. I thought I knew who the killer was about a fourth of the way through the story......and I was right. It didn't stop me from listening because I needed to know why.

COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!
This is the 3rd book I've listened to by this author, and all 3 have been difficult to put down! Every character is a suspect and there are red herrings throughout. There is also an event or discovery in each of her books that is unquestioningly disturbing, but so unique compared with many other books that won't cross that line. For me, I loved the anticipation of finding out what messed up situation the author would come up with - I have not been disappointed yet! Then, even knowing there would be a twist at the end, I was still taken by surprise because it was more like a triple twist! *Warning - this book does have scenes that include sex, bullying, rape, and murder, though none are described in graphic detail*

Horrible people kill other horrible people.
I didn't really dislike it but...
1. I wild guessed who the killer was about half way through and was right.
2. Ending was far too saccharine for me but perhaps that was Ms. Feeney's intent.
3. All the loose threads were pulled together at the end. Sort of.
4. Audio presentation was rather good.
This was my first Alice Feeney novel and I'll probably download another one of her novels just as a tie-breaker.
