There can be no victory without sacrifice.

The Iron Wolves are a company of legionnaires whose legendary exploits date back to the Savage Wars. When they are invited to be guests of honor at a ceremony on a small, backwater planet, they look forward to some precious time away from the constant conflicts of galaxy's edge.

But when a neighboring country invades, disrupting the ceremony and killing innocents, the Wolves are forced to make an impossible decision. Aid a people pleading for their protection...or obey the cynical orders of their senate to stand down and see how the dust settles.

Taking their careers and lives into their hands, the Iron Wolves and local militia form a brotherhood determined to fight for what they believe in. War is on the wind, the battle is at hand, and the Legion is on the move once more.

Strap on your bucket, grab your blaster, and start listening today. The Iron Wolves call, and death is on the hunt.

I really wanted to like this book. it's been an adjustment loosing RCBray as the narrator, but this is the first book in this series I am going to have to leave unfinished. I am half way through it and the naratoris to slow, voices are not very consistent, and I feel like I am in a lecture hall "Bueller,,,, Bueller". I hope it's isolated to this one book because I love the authors other books and the narator after RCBray was not bad, I had heard him before. just this one I can not get in to.

I really wanted to enjoy it, but I am skipping this book

I have listed to a ton of books in this series, this feels more like a 70s Vietnam story that a legion one, they don't behave like the other legions troops and make really poor choices. does not feel like the other books at all

Does not feel like a book about the legion.

The performance was corny with terrible over-acting with every line delivery and the dialogue itself was cringeworthy.

The story itself was fine but doesn’t really add to the universe much so it’s safe to skip this one.

Do not recommend.

A dark smudge on a brilliant series

Distracting narrator, boring characters, simplistic plotline. I feel bad being so negative, but this book is far lower quality than the rest of galaxy's edge.

Disappointing

The writing was really cringy with some seriously bad attention to detail. Definitely not up to the standards to the rest of the series and no where near the quality of galaxy's edge.

The narration is decent, but the material makes it all sound over dramatic.

You can skip this one.

Doesn't match the rest of the series.
