favorite James Patterson book

I read to about book 15 of the Alex Cross series and finally had to stop, it just became too much, too far, too ridiculous, too unbelievable.
This was the best of the Alex Cross novels, and it's only the second one.

It really puts you into the head of a psychopath, as well as the victims. It's really masterful.
Kept me guessing till the very end.

Perfect Patterson

Great narration. Typically Alex Cross drama...fun, exciting, suspenseful. Totally entertaining. Give it a shot. It was a great listen.

Poor Narration

The narrator is poor, too breathy, too many pauses, not a enjoyable experience.

The story as usual is great.

Too long and drawn out

The story was ok but it seemed to lull in the middle. I got bored and nearly fast forwarded to the end.

Patterson Delivers

I didn't like the narrator. I found his attempts to give everyone different voices unnerving. I gave him a 3 and that's really generous. The story as usual was a page turner. Kept me wrapped up in curiosity until the very end.

Loved it! Almost perfect!

Because I'm a nerd, the only reason I gave the performance 4 stars is because the narrator mispronounced some words... like, maybe 6 words throughout the entire book, but it kind of bugged me each time. Otherwise, excellent in every way.

Went a little long.

Good story. Character development fell short on a few key characters. The biggest shortcoming is the ending. It felt like Patterson wanted to add in a plot twist but sacrificed the story to do so. The audio quality wasn't the best. Kramer did a great job narrating but it sounded like an old recording. Still worth the listen as this is after all part of one of the best mystery thriller series out there.

Had Me Guessing 'til the End

Good yarn with several twists. Somewhat graphic in parts.. some descriptions are not for the faint of heart. Good Alex Cross tale, and left me looking forward to the next adventure. Narrator was good... cadence took some getting used to (a little like the Robert Stack character in "Airplane!") Overall, enjoyed it very much.

Great book - Narration was horrible

I could not wait for this book to end because of the terrible narration. His attempt at a southern draw or east coast accent was feeble at best. He was unable to pronounce many names and places properly but the fact he mispronounces the characters from Along Came a Spider drove me absolutely nuts. I won't be listening to his readings any more.
