Publisher's Summary

On the world of Colchis, mighty religions rule a decaying society in the name of absent gods - until the arrival of Lorgar. Primarch, prophet, leader of destiny, the Golden One is raised by Kor Phaeron, priest of the Covenant, to be his weapon in a quest for power.

As religious war spreads across the planet, spearheaded by the Brotherhood of Lorgar, the primarch is plagued by visions of the future and the coming of the Emperor. To find his place in this new order, he must reach balance between the teachings of his adopted father, Kor Phaeron, and the fate that he knows awaits him among the stars.

Awesome!

I quite enjoy the books that look at epic figures from their childhood. The book Dante does something similar. This book left me with a couple of questions about Lorgar but it did illuminate him a lot more for me

Title should be Kor Phaeron: Sneaky Snake

This like a few other of the books in this series is a lot less about the primarch the book is titled about than what you would initially hope for. I mean the book is titled Lorgar. It would be like picking up a book titled BATMAN and then the whole story is about Alfred Penniworth and his relationship with Bruce Wayne.

Heed the truth!

One of my favorites in the primarch series, a good place for the books to start at the beginning.

Slow Start, Rushed Ending

It’s neat to get some backstory on Lorgar and his upbringing, such as it is. However, the book totally skips exploring his motivations for eventually rejecting the Emperor - it’s almost like the author ran out of ideas and decided to wrap it up suddenly. Worth it if you get a monthly credit and don’t have anything else to buy.

takes a while to get going (but it's worth it)

first few chapters are pretty slow but it gets good later on if you can make it.

Love Gav

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It was good, but Lorgars origin didn’t impress.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Lorgars home world sucks. It’s sort of a dune rip, sand critters and all. Wild religions. I just wanted Lorgar to be from a more complex society.

Which scene was your favorite?

Did Lorgar: Bearer of the Word inspire you to do anything?

ThwHoris Heresy Books are abusing fans. From the Istvan massacre to book 46... 46? Who the hell writes a 6 book series? I’m a wh40k fan, but this book inspired me to edit for fans, not for profit.

Weaker of the Book series.

It’s not a book on Logar. It’s more about Kor and that just makes it a bit weaker in my opinion. Wanted more on Logar.
