Mc is surprisingly aimless at times. Is it a quest for vengeance? Nope. Is it a magical academy book? Not really, bros too busy for school. Is he some sort of magical sleuth? Kinda, but most deductions feel contrived.Is it a progression book, does he want power? At one point he was lamenting about how all the magic he knows is purely combat and doesn't see the point of it. Yet he gets shot at and attacked every other week. What happend to all his Fae knowledge from the first book? I swear it hasn't come in handy once. He didn't even talk to a animal till the end if the book haha it's like he forgot he could do that.
All this to say I still liked the book. But it's definitely got alotta leaks in the story that might bother others.
