Story
Never mix business with pleasure. Never bring politics into the bedroom. In a way I did both when I took Jackson Rutledge as a lover. I can't say I wasn't warned. Two years later, he was back. Walking into a deal I'd worked hard to close. Under the tutelage of Lei Yeung, one of the sharpest businesswomen in New York, I had picked up a thing or two since Jax walked away. I wasn't the girl he once knew, but he hadn't changed. Unlike the last time we'd drifted into each other's lives, I knew exactly what I was dealing with...and how addictive his touch could be.

Story
Jesse Ward has stumbled through life drinking and indulging himself within the rooms of his high-class sex club, The Manor, numbing himself to the pain, grief, and guilt of his wrongs. Pleasure and alcohol are his medicine. Hedonism is all he knows. It’s how he copes. How he survives. Until Ava O’Shea strolls into his office and knocks him back with her breathtaking beauty, ambition, and drive. It only takes one look into her eyes, one touch of her skin, and one word murmured, before his heart is kick-started, offering him something he never thought possible.

Written in 2004, a few brief excerpts were posted on my website, and they were never forgotten - I've been receiving email about Sapphire and Wulf ever since! Edward Fasbender is a devil. He's my father's biggest rival. He takes what he wants, and he bows to no one. And now Edward Fasbender wants me. I didn't expect to want him back. Having him is not in the cards, not when a union with him would destroy my father. But that doesn't mean I can't play with him a bit. Except, I've never played against such a ruthless opponent. Edward is cold and vicious, and my blood has never run hotter. They say you should choose the devil you know, but I've always preferred long odds. Even if it'll get me slain.

FROM #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR SYLVIA DAY
The final chapter in the global blockbuster Crossfire quintet
Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I've ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably.
Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one.
We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws...and all the beauty I couldn't see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us.
But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free...or break us apart.
Heartbreakingly and seductively poignant, One with You is the breathlessly awaited finale to the Crossfire saga, the searing love story that has captivated millions of readers and listeners worldwide.

I want a do over,it was not worth the long wait.
I listened to this book twice before I wrote this review so that I could give as much positive feed back as possible. I love the Crossfire Series and I love GidEva they are my favorite characters of all time. I have read over 452 books in this genre. I want to say that it was a great story with a great ending but I can't. I feel like this story which was to bring closure to this couple's journey only opened up more unanswered questions for me. The next part of this review will have some spoilers so if you don't want anymore details you should end the reading of this review.
I love that Gideon and Eva's marriage showed so much growth. You can feel their deep love and passion and commitment to each other leap off the page. I enjoyed the breakthrough's that G experienced as he continued with his therapy. I like how the couple continued to go see Dr. Peterson as well. All of Gideon's work helped him mend relationships with Chris (step-Dad). Gideon's work finally lead to the show down I was waiting for with his Mother, I loved that Eva was their to witness Elizabeth's verbal beat down by G. Having waited for that so long, this verbal tongue lashing Elizabeth took from her son makes me wonder what the heck Is wrong with her? She is so self evolved and detached she doesn't make amends with her son Gideon after he admits he was raped. Elizabeth evidently gave up her marriage to Chris because he asked her to go to counseling and she refuses. I guess in my mind, Elizabeth, Chris and G where going to resolve there feelings and heal with an HEA for all but nope, that didn't happen.
Christopher Vidal and Gideon we find out that Christopher hated G because of the "therapist" Hugh telling Christoper, Jr, that Gideon wants you dead and wished you were never born. Christopher is trying to raise capital to buy out Vidal records, we never find out if he did. The story sort of implies the brothers relationship could be repaired because Christopher show up for Gideon's Birthday.
Monica Trammel Mitchell Barker Stanton, what a waste of story line that went no where!
Sylvia Day gave Monica a back story that makes no sense to me at all. I don't understand the purpose considering (Spoiler Alert) Monica ends up dead. I mean I could have totally lived with the idea of Monica being an over protective gold digging debutant. Turns out she wasn't a debutant at all. It was Victor's family who disapproved of her. This was storyline wasted for a character who is now dead. It is really disappointing because this series ends with other characters who still have unresolved issue's.
After Monica was killed I kind of felt bad for Stanton because Eva was with Gideon, Victor and Carey grieving but who took care of Stanton after he lost his wife.
I do like that Victor moved to New York to be closer to Eva. That was one nice part of Monica's untimely death.
Carey Taylor, I would have liked to see his life settled one way or the other. Was Tatyiana really pregnant with his kid? Did Trey ever get back with him? So Carey lost his baby mama (She met someone else) and his boyfriend. Carey did have a little personal growth and he stopped sleeping around so that is good.
Megumi was a victim of bad BDSM play with her boyfriend did she end up with anyone? Nope. She was just a friend who was supportive and could have hooked up with Araash or Renaldo or even Manuel.
Back to the biggest disappointment for me of this book. It was over 14 hours of audible reading so I had great anticipation that Ms.Day took her time for a nice send off, but where I felt cheated was that GidEva got their happy ending but I really would have loved to see their impending parent hood play out in the story. It adds something to a story for me anyway when a couple has a pregnancy scare and let's face it this couple had so much sex it was amazing she didn't end up pregnant. It doesn't even have to be a scare, it could have just been the announcement of impending parenthood to sharing the joy with there friends and family. Assuming the family was healed and reunited. I know Ireland would have been ecstatic to become an auntie. This could have been done in an epilogue or been added onto an additional few chapters. Both of them were squeamish about parent hood so it could have been written comically or knowing how well they navigated their marriage they could have worked together through this too. Also, does Gideon ever overcome his sexual parasomnia. It seemed like after his discussion with his Mother and the dog Lucky turning into a miracle therapy dog who wakes PTSD patients from their dreams I guess we have to assume yes he was cured.
I really have more questions about the couple and their friends that I would assume she might spin off a series but I don't have faith she will do a spin off. I think she was just tired of this couple and did what she thought would be a great story. I just felt there were quite a few holes and and things that make you go Hmmm?
I am sorry Ms. Day not your best ending.
Jill Redfield once again dud a fantastic Job narrating Eva Cross and Jeremy York did a great job with Gideon and I enjoyed his Eva too.

Disappointed with the Ending!
Would you try another book from Sylvia Day and/or Jill Redfield and Jeremy York ?
I am very disappointed with Sylvia Day's ending to the Gideon and Eva story. I have been waiting over a year for the end of this love story...this life story the evolution of their lives and friends and family. One with You did not have the ending that we were all waiting for. I felt that the book did not tie everyone's story together and give it the happy after ending. I enjoyed Jill Redfield and Jeremy York they did a great job narrating like always.
What other book might you compare One with You to and why?
None... i was very dissapointed. i have read many other books with better endings.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from One with You?
I did not like the ending ...all the last 20% of the book. They threw in a plot different than what we had been reading in the last 4 books. I felt it came out of no where. Why focus on Monica at all? To alter the ending for Monica was not a great idea.
Any additional comments?
We don't get the Beautiful wedding that we were all anticipaiting for since book 3.We don't get to see closure for many of the characthers. Cary and the baby? Gideon's brother Christopher? Mark and Steven's wedding? Eva's new job? what happened with Corrine? so many characthers stories felt like they were passed up by the waistline for a plot about Monica that came out of no where? what about Stanton? The Epilouge should have been 1 year into their marriage and tying up where everyone is now? I felt that it was a poorly written book for the amount of time we had to wait for it to come out.. i almost wish i got my money back! big DISAPPOINTMENT. I looked so forward to this book every month checking to see when it was coming out for a year. so sad!

I wasted a Good Credit for Nothing!!!!
What would have made One with You better?
A major re-write. Ava and Gideon deserves better than what Ms. Day gave them. Nothing and I mean nothing was resolved in this book.
What was most disappointing about Sylvia Day’s story?
The epilogue, What epilogue??? Ms. Day owes it to her fans to do a re-write. It took a 1 1/2 and $9.99 (Thank Goodness for Credits), to wait to see what happens to Ava and Gideon. All 5 books are over a span of 4-5 months and the epilogue is just 1 month later??? Really???
Have you listened to any of Jill Redfield and Jeremy York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narrators made this book interesting. I absolutely love Jill Redfield. I would imagine if Ava was real that she would sound just like Jill.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from One with You?
All of it. I thought that book 4 was bad but book 5 was past awful. This Ava and Gideon is not the same from books 1-3. I know they are fictional characters but they are probably just as dissapointed at this dreadful telling.
Any additional comments?
This is so disappointing that I will probably not read another of Ms. Day's books again.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
I am a die hard fan of the Crossfire series however "book 5" was VERY disappointing. On top of the oh so many boring parts, the story line is all over the place. The ending is so unexpected. Book 5 has left me feeling like ARE YOU SERIOUSLY GOING TO END THE LAST BOOK THIS WAY???? I've waited for over a year for this book to come out....and for what I ask myself. Simply does not compare to the other books in this series. I forced myself to finish.

THIS BOOK SUUUUCCKKKEEEDDD!!!
What disappointed you about One with You?
This was by far my MOST anticipated book of the year. I am soooo freakin' disappointed. Frankly, the book was just boring as hell. I couldn't wait til it was over. Nothing significant happens until close to the end. Sylvia simply regurgitates the other books over and over again. Most of the book is written for new readers who know nothing about Ava and Gideon's story, so she didn't really give her loyal readers anything new. And yes, I know Ava was suppose to change and heal Gideon, but he is too damned soft now. After "Captivated by You", she could have taken their story in so many different directions, but this storyline just seems stupid to me.
Would you ever listen to anything by Sylvia Day again?
Maybe...I enjoy her writing style, but I'm so pissed off about the end of Ava and Gideon's story. Very weak!
Did Jill Redfield and Jeremy York do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I do like the fact that she used a male and female narrator again. I love Jill, but Jeremy was better in "Captivated by You". However, she made Gideon a lot softer this time...no bark or bite. I got so excited listening to the first scene where each part was being read by the appropriate gender. But then the narrators went back to trying to imitate the voice of the opposite sex. I can't stand that! How hard is it to have the dialogue read by the appropriate gender?
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
All of the above...I'm disappointed that their story ends on such a shallow, boring note. There was sex, but it wasn't SEXY...very vanilla. I was hoping Gideon would take Ava further sexually.
Any additional comments?
Sylvia, I hope you aren't going to leave your loyal fans hanging. It feels like the other books were AMAZING foreplay and you just left us hanging with no CLIMAX. I'm frustrated and pissed off!!!! So, I'm hoping this book was so crappy because you're preparing us for an awesome book six.

Dedicated fan disappointed
I have read the first three books over and over just loving these characters so much, also have been looking forward to this book for months. I was very disappointed. There was very little plot and it just went on and on. A couple of events happened and I thought oh finally something interesting, nope it was over and more just gushing about their love. I'm so sad this wasn't better it doesn't even feel like the same writer, so lacking when the first three were just so great. Just disappointed.

Good Finale To An Epic Love Story
FINALLY! We get the last book in the seemingly never ending saga of Gideon and Eva. Honestly, I had low expectations going into this book. In my opinion, books 3 and 4 did nothing to move the story along, in fact it seem to drag the series down. With that said, I am pleasantly surprised to be saying I was ecstatic to see growth and maturity in both Gideon and Eva. Their relationship had become stagnant in the last books, so it was a welcome change to see them compromising and working a couple on their problems. I was also impressed with Monica's backstory. Definitely not what I expected and it was great to see Monica's character given more depth. She became more than Eva's overbearing mom. Those parts of the story for were a solid 5 star rating.
What left me a little unsatisfied was Ms. Day's failure to close some story-lines for Cary (this includes Trey, Tatiana, and the baby), Anne and Terry Lucas, Corinne (and her book) and Deanna. While Ms. Day certainly gave the reader a direction where these characters MIGHT be going, it seems like it's left up to the reader to ultimately decide the fate of these characters. I find this extremely frustrating because at the start this series focused mainly on Gideon and Eva with Cary's story line in the background. The series was expanded because Ms. Day felt she needed more books to do this to fully tell the story. Many story-lines opened up during books 3 and 4 and these story lines were not properly closed for me. That part was disappointing and dropped my rating down.
Overall, I am just glad the series is now finished. I feel Ms. Day redeemed herself by providing a good end for Gideon and Eva's journey. Perhaps someday she will write a novella detailing Cary's story because throughout the series I felt invested in what happened to him and feel like I deserve to see him happy.
Jill Redfield , Jeremy York Were outstanding with the delivery of the story

disappointed!
I have been a fan of this series for so long! Only to reach the last book...the conclusion and it have no closure at all! It dragged at the beginning, only to get better and better and then as it get good...The end! no conclusion at all . It was a real let down. Not to mention Gideons voice was awful! It felt uncomfortable to listen to...poor choice of narrator.

How many ways.....
do you write disappointment first this is an erotic romance so where is all the sex. Next how choppy can an editor get jumping from one place or subject to another and not knowing until minutes later.
Why if you write an ending wouldn't it be in a distant future that is what an epilogue is suppose to include.
Worst book I have read by Day!
