பட்டணத்தில் வீணா என்ற பெண் தன்னை கல்யாணம் செய்து கொள்ளும்படி கூற அவளுக்கு பயந்து பெரியதம்பி வாத்தியார் வேடத்தில் கிராமத்துக்கு வருகிறான். அவனைத் தொடர்ந்து வீணா, அவன் வாயாலேயே பெரியதம்பி தான் வேடம் போட்டான் என்று கூற வைத்து அவனையே கல்யாணம் செய்து கொள்கிறாள்.
