Publisher's Summary

"Did you have relations with my brother?"

Good question.

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother.

My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.

But so far, I’ve managed to be called into the principal’s office; I've been coerced into participating in the teacher's badminton league; and I've instigated passionate fights with Arlo Turner over education and decorum while losing my underwear at the same time.

Known as Mr. Turns Me On, he’s the reason I might get fired from my first ever teaching job.

Excellent story

This story was great.

Greer and Arlo are polar opposites. But seem to work.

Both at one point annoyed me. But made sense later into the story.

Nice to see there are teachers out there who care about their students. And understand there is not only one way to teach.

I am not giving you any spoilers.

Just saying. You can never go wrong with Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber. The most beautiful voices you will hear.

Misogynistic character... okay?

I am a little confused by all the reviews. I found the male protagonist hard to listen to. He was misogynistic and condescending and yet somehow won her over? He called her emotional when she questions him, he doesn't treat her with any respect, constantly calls her childish when he is the one acting petulant throughout, and can't handle his own emotions. I was so frustrated with how the sexist "banter" was seemingly okay and never called out. 'He treats me like an inferior not worthy of him and calls me childish and belittles my character- yet I'll just play a prank on him and challenge him to smile'.

For me the narration was great, the writing and flow was good, and if you can overlook the underlining misogyny, then it is actually a fine fluffy Sunday listen. I personally just couldn't overlook it in this book.
