Story
The Beginning After the End: Publisher's Pack 2 contains books 3 and 4 of The Beginning After the End series, Beckoning Fates and Horizon's Edge. Though Arthur Leywin would like nothing more than to pursue his studies at the esteemed Xyrus Academy, where he hopes to push his already potent magical abilities to new plateaus and perhaps discover something more about his reincarnation into this world, he finds the politics of the school’s halls even more challenging to navigate than those of the council chambers he once inhabited as King Grey.

In order to protect his loved ones, the mage Arthur Leywin must reveal the truth of his identity. If he is to fulfill his role in the war between the godlike asuras and the demonic Vritra, he must leave those he hopes to protect and travel to the land of deities and dragons. First, however, he must escape. Arthur stands before the kings and queens of Dicathen, accused of a crime he did not commit. It will take an act of the gods to save him from having his magic stripped away, leaving him powerless in the war to come. Fortunately for Arthur, he can count the gods among his friends.

Story
Arthur Leywin knew well the cold terror of war. Yet, in his past life as King Grey, he had never lost a friend, mentor, or loved one; he had none to lose. Now, though, Arthur must accept that even those closest to him must take up arms to defend their homes as the enemy force seeks new methods to strike at the heart of Dicathen. In his quest to stop the approaching army, Arthur must travel to the dwarven kingdom of Darv, gain mastery of the four elements, battle some of the Vritra’s mightiest champions, and overcome a grievous betrayal.

Story
The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Publisher's Summary
The Beginning After the End: Publisher's Pack contains books 1 and 2 of The Beginning After the End series.
Early Years, book one:
I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how?
King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic. Given a second chance at life, the once-king strives to understand his role in this new world and the purpose of his reincarnation while correcting the mistakes of his past.
New Heights, book two:
I had a family now, I had people who loved me. It was a feeling I never wanted to give up. I’d treasure it, fight for it if I had to...and for that, I needed to better myself. More so even than when I had been a king.
Given a second chance at life, Arthur Leywin wishes above all to grow strong enough to protect his family, as the memory of his cold and disconnected past life as King Grey still haunts him. To this end, Arthur adopts the persona of the masked adventurer, Note, and delves into the dungeons under the forbidding Beast Glades. On his adventures, Arthur discovers a strange magical blade that responds to the dragon’s will inside him, befriends a powerful young conjurer whose past is shrouded in mystery, and battles the deadly Elderwood Guardian. Yet all his efforts might prove for naught when Arthur makes an enemy of a talented conjurer from a very powerful family, putting his very future at risk.

A story that reels you in? No problem! Cliffhangers that have you on the edge of your seat? I barely hang on! Emotions that have you feeling the way the characters do? Well, I could power a waterwheel... The story that follows the adventures of our protagonist are ones that you would regret missing!
Hopefully you can enjoy this story just as much as I do!

Weirdly Pedophilic
One of the worst books I've read in a long time. the story was unoriginal, the characters were creepy, the setting was undeveloped. Never has there been a more Mary Sue type since the original Mary Sue. Everything just gets handed to the character without any effort or conflict. It's just one "here take this priceless artifact because I know you're special" after another. I have a relatively high tolerance for Mary Sue characters, which aren't uncommon in Epic Fantasy but this was just so over the top that it's unforgivable that it made its way through an editor.
Now let's talk about all the cringy overly sexual descriptions of little girls. It seems like the book couldn't go a single chapter without describing a 7 year old girl as "blossoming into a shapely woman". It would be creepy if the main character wasn't a 30 year old in a child's body.
Lets wrap with all the weird chapters from other characters' points of view. They contribute absolutely nothing, simply going over the same extract event from the previous chapter, without any new details or perspective. The only purpose seems to be to have other characters' continuously proclaiming how good and perfect and handsome and brave and mysterious the main character is. That's it. It's like the author having just finished writing the most Mary Sue character of all time, needed to make absolutely 110% sure that you understood that their character was utter perfection incarnate.
Garbage book.

Best Isekai out there
First of all, Travis Baldree's perfomance was more than amazing, we could feel every emotion through him and boy there are a lot of them: from grinning to havin tear he make us live them in a perfect way. For all those excellent feeling during one of the best adventure out there, we have to thanks TurtleMe. All the character are really interesting even the bad one (Lucas), they all make the story really lively. The cultivating aspect of the book is also really well done so far.
So definitly a recommandation and going to buy the next one.

PSA: There is also a comic book style version out
Love this book, I was actually about to cancel my subscription to audible for the foreseeable future till I found this novel and after listing to the sample provided got hooked in the world presented and in the voice actor's performance. Later that night it dawned on me that I've actually been reading the manhwa version ( Korean style comic book) for a long time now. This is a great novel and coming from the background of having read most of this I find it gives a lot of of backstory without getting stale and being at a standstill.
10/10 would recommend this book series and I'd also suggest you search The Beginning After the End Manhwa to see what what the characters look like and to know if this novel is right for you.

Why it this so highly rated?
Boring. There is no conflict. Everything he does is perfect. He makes all the "right" choices. Nothing about the MC was interesting. He doesn't struggle for anything and everything is handed to him. I listened to the whole thing waiting for something to happen because there has to be a reason it has so many 5 star reviews. Disappointing.

Why is he from another world?
There is no reason the main character should be an adult from another world. He never questions why or how he came to be in another world. He never thinks about going back to his world. He never talks to anyone about being from another world. Even in his own mind he never brings up cliches like missing his smartphone or cheeseburgers. All of his friends are kids. All of his love interests are kids. All of his rivals are kids. He has the emotions of a kid. He has a child like innocence at times. The main character is just a normal kid from what we are shown of other kids in this world. Why not have him be from the world he is reincarnated into if they both have magic and he never mentions his old world? The author also relies heavily on you having previous knowledge of this genre to fill in a lot of gaps and being able to just jump straight to the over powered character stuff. Most of the story was carried by Travis Baldrees great narration.

I love every second of this book! I need more!
I love every second of this book, the narration was amazing, but i had to slow it down to 90% to fully enjoy and digest the information.
i love the MC's progression, his thoughts on life, training, and his family. it was wholesome, fantastic, funny, and brought tears to my eyes on some occasions. He's just a guy living a new life, trying to protect his family.
I read the manga, and was pleasantly surprised on how much detail was missed on the manga. The book goes on to detail everything i have missed and much more. I also love the fact that there are no harem elements anywhere in this book like other books like this (manga, fantasy, or litrpg books).
I don't know what more to say, but this book is absolutely amazing and i can't wait for the next installments. Please! let me have some more!

getting some weird vibes
Arthur woke up in a new world as a baby. a superhuman, fully cognizant, 20-something baby. That's the big sticking point for me.
There's nothing outright inappropriate going on but the author loves talking about how beautiful all the very young girls are. By the time the main character meets his first *cringe* love interest, she's 6 or 7 and he's mentally in his 30s! That's called grooming. The folks that look after his family have a beautiful daughter and would you look at that! His little sister is also beautiful. Oh and all the "ladies" are into him.
The author's focus on this makes me pretty uncomfortable.
There's nothing that can challenge the protagonist (super dragon powers). He remembers everything about fighting from his past life (former warrior king), He has no trouble mastering magic (BECAUSE HE CAME FROM A WORLD THAT ALREADY HAD IT). It feels like a power fantasy where a grown man can bask in the adoration of young girls.
If it wasn't for monsters, sword fighting, and magic, I'd give this book 1 star.

Let's hear it for intelligent main characters!
Can we have more? Don't get me wrong, I do not want MCs who know everything. I just want them to be NOT stupid. And more female supporting characters who are not all swooning and fainting all over the place.
This was an excellent book. I tried hard not to consume it all at once but I could not stop listening. I wanted action, adventure, intrigue, humor, endearment... and this delivered it all in spades.
My only gripe is the time jumps, but that is very minor. Not everyone wants to get bogged down in the weeds with the 'slice of life' genre. But if any character could enthrall you with the day to day minutia it would be this guy; He would be calculating optimal mana densities and plotting to overthrow the royal family while flossing...
Please buy and share. This is well worth your time and credit.

Good read for children.
I made it through it but just couldn't get lost in the book. It was just missing something and i couldn't suspend my disbelief. It'd be a good listen for 10 to 12 year olds or someone who likes this style. it's just not for me and won't continue with the series if more become available.

Fun, but needs work.
Fun, ridculous, contrived, a bit shallow, but a good time nonetheless. The basic concept of the main character Is what kept me engaged, reincarnation, is something I never thought I would enjoy in my fantasy novels. But it introduces some fun encounters, and allows the protagonist to act intelligently beyond his age.
If u don't think too much about some of the systems and plots , and enjoy the ride, it's worth the credit for the publishers pack. I will likely purchase the next book in print for a fun light hearted read.

Absolutely Amazing
I don’t write many reviews , but I had to on this book. Travis Baldree is one my new favorite narrators, he just brings books to life. If you liked Cradle you’ll love this book! Looking forward to the next book!

Splendide
A really good fantasy book. Easy to follow in this form (the most problematic thing I stumbble when listening to audiobooks). If you like fantasy, and reincarnation stories with OP MC, don't search any further :)
