Story
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner. So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Story
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Story
Cat's Cradle is Vonnegut's satirical commentary on modern man and his madness. An apocalyptic tale of this planet's ultimate fate, it features a little person as the protagonist; a complete, original theology created by a calypso singer; and a vision of the future that is at once blackly fatalistic and hilariously funny.

Story
Once upon a time, in the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel's performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop. Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel's the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule.

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

A new and Avid reader/listen of all things Gaiman
I started my Gaiman journey unwittingly with the book he co-authored with Terry Pratchett, Good Omens. My first intentional foray into Neil's work was the Sandman. I quickly realized that I had found an author on the level (and in some cases beyond) of my all time favorites. This is my third Gaiman book and I was not disappointed. Neil has the ability to weave fascinating original works that leave me excited to be just starting my literary journey with him. Great listen.

Love it!
There is nothing about this book that I do not love. The story is original, odd, engaging, funny, emotional and just all around great. The narration is perfect. I think Derek Jacobi could read a dictionary and it would be the most interesting thing you ever heard. Andrew Scott is spectacularly creepy and menacing. And I will never hear the word "vampire" without also hearing Julian Rhind-Tutt's voice in my head. I also love the snippets of music between chapters. I do not like, or listen to, audiobooks with sound effects (i.e. footsteps, doors opening and closing, etc.) as I find those sounds distracting. I completely love the music in this audiobook which is not distracting at all but rather adds to the overall ambience. Do yourself a favour and listen to this book.

A Wonderful Surprise
I didn’t know what to expect with this audible book. The story was a deviation from my usual genre, but I decided to see what it was about on a whim. I was incredibly surprised and incredibly grateful to find such a gem by accident. The story is different in an interesting way, something that grabs you just by uniqueness and pulls you into it and won’t let your interest go. I found the music perfect in its accompaniment which also surprised me as I am not a fan of musical interludes in books. I usually find them to be trite and less than worthwhile. The premise was unusual, the cast did a wonderful job and even the music suited the writing. Such a unique mind Mr. Gaiman has.
