There's nothing new under the sun
All points were based on common sense. I could very well know the content of a chapter by only listening the last 5-6 minutes of the chapter, which was redundant.

A little overrated
This book came highly recommended from multiple people. Truthfully I found it a little overrated, and mostly filled with common sense. If you have a horrible attitude this could be a kick in the pants, but if you already have a positive, ambitious attitude this book probably won't add too much you don't already know or have already implemented into your life.

Misleading
The release date of this book is listed as 2015 but it was written in 1959. The audiobook must have been recorded in 2015. The misleading publication date in combination with the modern-looking cover image had me expecting something completely different from what this book is. Outdated and simplistic. Promotes some practices that I'm pretty sure have since been shown to be harmful, such as ignoring and pushing away negative emotions. Really disappointed with this purchase.

Seriously probably the most impactful book I have ever read!
I love this book! So many golden nuggets and practical applications in daily life. I know I have to re read this book very soon.
I love self- help books, and this book stands out from the crowd in a grand way for me. I'm not sure it it's the timing where I am in my life or if it's simply the book itself - that's up to you. However the practical steps in the end of every chapter and topic is in itself priceless. One example for the beginning of the book that I immediately took to heart is:
"How can you live with people and not understand how they thing and feel?!" This is so interesting to think about and the author carries on to think about two different persons that you know, think about the most successful one and the least success if one. Compare them: what do the they do differently? What can you learn from this?
I was almost afraid to carry on reading sometimes because I felt the limitless potential of myself.
I would like to finish this review with citing the book from my head:
" nothing beats seeing yourself grow to be more successful. Nothing is more challenging to try and make the best out of one self"
With that said. I hope you are trying your best in everything you do. If not read this book and try again!
Thanks to Tim ferris and also IBM (Internet business mastery) podcast for recommending this book. I owe you.

Very Dated
There are some good points in the book but it's just extremely out of date. I understand a lot of these principles and concepts are timeless, but so many of the examples and the context was out of date. To me it is like a watered down much less compelling version of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill. I found much Think and Grow Rich to be more far reaching, interesting and useful. I was actually glad to get to the end of this book, it was a tough listen. It felt like I was listening to Ward Cleaver lecture on "Leave it to Beaver".

Before this book I had lost my dreams, I was in a low paying job that I didn't enjoy I had tried starting my own business and failed and almost decided to move to Puerto Rico because I couldn't live a mediocre life and so being poor on the beach would be better than being a junior software developer working 15 hours a day for the rest of the foreseeable future. My dream is to be an entrepreneur and because of this book I know now how I can do it! I have bought the audio and hard copy and plan to implement everything that it teaches so I can reach my dreams. Extremely dated information
Ce livre n'était pas pour vous, mais à qui aurait-il pu plaire ?
I honestly can't think who would like to read it because there're so many great books out there. Why bother with this?
Qu'est-ce qui a été le plus décevant dans l'histoire de David Schwartz ?
This book has outdated information and tells it in a very simplistic way.
Qui auriez-vous pu choisir comme narrateur à la place de Jason Culp ?
The narrator is OK.
Si vous pouviez prendre la place de l'éditeur, quelle(s) scène(s) auriez-vous pu couper de The Magic of Thinking Big ?
All the information that is too old now and some of the fantastic claims, like the one about people in hospital suffering from illnesses brought on by their emotions...
Avez-vous d'autres commentaires ?
