Enlightened!

I had this in my Audible library for a long time but decided to listened to it while working and It had enlightened me in a way I never thought a book would. Prepare yourself to be changed in so many ways..spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. Youll never be the same person again after youve read (or listen) to this book.

Struggled to finish...

As a long time seeker and Classically trained Yogini very little actual Yoga or Spirituality can be found in this book. It read like a pedestrian self-help book on the sale shelf. Conversations were poorly written, and unbelievable. This book might benifits someone in a corporate structure who is new to the topic.

Fantastic read!

A must read for the "success at any cost" crowd. This will resonate with those killing themselves to reach the next rung on the corporate ladder....it's not worth it.

20+ Years Later, Lost Some Sparkle

I’m being generous with my stars because - this book had a huge impact on my life and couple decades ago, that has lasted until today. So, it was nostalgia that brought me back for another listen, and to see what treasures may have been forgotten from my first listen.

And those treasures were there. That said, scores of personal growth books later, and 2+ decades of life meant that I found the book a bit more pedantic than I had remembered it to be… and perhaps a little less engaging with its interview format. That might just be me; and how I’m influenced by today’s shorter and tighter sound bite culture (gosh I hope not!) But whatever it was, I would be dishonest if I didn’t say that it was a tougher listen than I expected, and some of the repetition about how Julian was changed grated. So … much of the charm was gone.

All told, if this was a first read in the genre, it would be an impactful choice; but I can’t say I’d be recommending it as I would have in the past, despite its impact on me.

Hard to believe, but that’s my truth.
