About this listen

Ambitious Daily Sentinel journalist Lauren King is chaffing on LA’s vapid social circuit, reporting on glamorous A-list parties while sparring with her rival - the formidable, icy Catherine Ayers. Ayers is an ex-Washington political correspondent who suffered a humiliating fall from grace, and her acerbic, vicious tongue keeps everyone at bay. Everyone, that is, except knockabout Iowa girl King, who is undaunted and unimpressed and gives as good as she gets.

One night a curious story unfolds before their eyes: one political launch, 34 prostitutes and a palette of missing pink champagne. Can the warring pair work together to unravel an incredible story?

This is a lesbian fiction with more than a few mysterious twists.

Action, adventure, romance, and a seriously gorgeous car. I'll be checking out the sequel shortly.

This is one of my all time favourite sapphic romances and the sequel is great too! Lee Winter is great, especially if you like Ice Queens, and this is amongst her best. The snark between Catherine and Lauren is great and their war to one up each other in how much they can annoy and inconvenience the other is great fun. It's the kind of thing I can only enjoy when both participants can give as good as they get and with that caveat met it's such a fun ride. Adding the mystery and investigative journalism to drive the plot and doing it well enough that that side of the story as solid as the romance makes this story top tier, in my opinion

And to top it off, Victoria Mei/Natalie Naudus is easily in my top 5 narrators of sapphic lit. Angela Dawe makes that list too, though, so it's hard to go wrong with a Lee Winter audiobook. Seems to be about a 50% chance any new book of hers will end up one I revisit over and over.

Amazing snark, plot, and heat!
