Publisher's Summary

They promised him one weekend a month. The House or Reason swore the 9th would never leave their gentle homeworld. But after Kublar, things changed for Sergeant Fetch and the Caledonian Reserve Legion Corps. Thrown into a meat grinder conflict in a desperate bid to hold the line, it doesn’t matter whether you’re reserve or active, only that you kill and survive.

A searing tale of combat and honor at any price from a wounded veteran of the War in Iraq who fought to keep the MSRs open from Mosul to Tikrit.

A bit monotone

Although the story evokes dread and sympathy, the pacing and the reading both rendered this book monotone.

Great story but narration is too fast

The story was great and character development was superb. I just felt that the narration was too fast. The action sequences were great but points in the story where the pacing slowed down didn’t have a slow down in performance. I feel like spots where there should have been tension are rushed past.

Gritty, heartfelt and powerful

Despite being set on an alien world, this story feels real. The little details put you into the soldier’s life without bogging the listener down. It doesn’t take long to get into the mission that the novel focuses on, and let’s just say that for fetch, it goes from bad to worse to... we’ll you’ll have to listen to find out. I’d recommend this for anyone who is a fan of military sci-fi, but I think the broader sci-fi community will get a loss from this as well. You don’t need to have read any other books from this setting. Go on, use that credit!

Galaxy's Edge - Order of the Centurion series

Another great addition to the Galaxy's Edge universe. A great story by a fantastic author, told by a good narrator.(won't make you want to run your fingernails down a chalkboard!)

something wrong with the narrator.

no legionnaire talks like that. no one talks like that. I don't even remember what the story was about. oh, yeah, it was about narrating just any operation. this installment seems off relative to all the others. Will be returning.

Action packed and a whole lot of KTF.

5 star all the way. JR delivers this action packed book to the Order of The Centurion series with a completely different writing style and a whole lot of badass. The story is written in a way that it’s very direct and nearly non stop action. The delivery is perfect and with Christian Rummel you just can’t go wrong. I highly recommend The Reservist as well as JR’s series The Sleeping Legion. Enjoy, Leej’s and KTF.

Another excellent addition to Galaxy’s Edge

Like the title says, this is another fantastic book that expands on the Galaxy’s Edge universe by showing us another side of the Legion in another war. The action is intense and feels like tactics a real army would use in this type of situation. I can not recommend this book enough!

KT freaking F

Damn this book is freaking good. Just a regular joe morphing into a true LEEJ. War brings out those who can hold the lune and those who are not worth the air they breath. Order of the Centurion gets better and better. Keep up the work brothers. KTF

Great Addition

Great story! Typically, I Sh!t can any series that changes a narrator. I’m a fan of this series but Audible Studios keeps pissing me off by changing the narrators in the Galaxy Edge series, its almost like going to see the next John Wick movie and you discover Keanu Reeves was replaced by Patrick Stewart, good actor but not for John Wick. There are just very few narrators who can compete with RC Bray for military books and Ray Porter is hands down one of the best! I gave this one a chance only because I am also a fan of the The Remaining series and Christian Rommel did a great job. So for me it was a good save.

Great in depth story of the psychology of war

Story of the psychology of war from the soldiers perspective. The narrator lacks character variety

Great installment

Amazing book and great performance. It's the only thing I'm come to expect from these brilliant authors.
