Lots of fun! Enjoyed this one a lot. Interesting characters, good pace and plenty of surprises.

I was very surprised with this series!! going in I wasn't sure how i'd feel about it, this was just another long listen to have on in the background while I worked. I soon came to realize I have stumbled upon a true gem! The writing is good and the world building is fenominal. It was hard to follow at first, with complicated names that I didn't recognize right away (the accent of the names along with their non-english nature) but after a while I became very invested. I wonder if there is a map that comes with the hard copy?
Regardless, it confused me at first but was well worth it as I caught on. You do not want to miss a single second of this listen, as it happens fast key parts seem to flash by in seconds. I found myself having to rewind several times to really understand some things that were going on. (this may only apply to me as I was listening while working and zoned out a couple times. definitely recommend giving this your full attention) There is nuance to just about every character interaction and I am extremely excited to discover how the next installment plays out. there wasn't as much romance as I first hoped, but that does not take away from this at all! actually, I prefer that it went this direction. I found myself more invested in the characters and world than the romance plot. Though I will admit a lot of the subtle melting of hearts did make my toes curl with excitement.
I 100% recommend giving this a listen or a read if you find the hard copy.

The magic is beautifully described, the plot is exciting and luring. Love the different relationship dynamics both spicy and platonic. Characters are imperfect and complex in ways that feel real, not just tropes. Deepened by the different POVs. Love this series

The book was so good from beginning to end. I loved everything about it. The characters, the creatures and magic. The narrator did a wonderful job. I am really looking forward to the next book.
