A former Delta Force commander, Brad Taylor proves with this breathtaking debut thriller that Vince Flynn and Brad Thor have company. A collection of top operatives, the Taskforce was commissioned by the highest levels of government, kept secret from the media and even Congress. The best of the Taskforce bunch, Pike Logan knows the greatest threat to American security is one or two idealogues. Unfortunately for them, they’ve just crossed Pike’s path.

4.5 Stars Action Packed Book A Bargain @$8.08
This writing team of Andrews and Wilson have achieved a great synergy in that the reader would never know the book was collaboratively written. The voice is consistent and the integration of the two authors is seamless. They bring to life the feel of being Tier One operators and the trials and tests their characters undergo under the most adverse combat conditions.
If this book was any more real, it would come sold with a plate carrier, 4 tube NVG's and a SOPMOD M4.
While this book is 'fiction', it sounds very familiar. This book packs in the action non-stop. If you love the world of black ops written by people who know what they are actually talking about and aren't spouting off endorsements from SHOT show 2016, then this is a book you need to read.
While I love the action Brad Thor writes, he always has an agenda. Brad Taylor sometimes gets too bogged down in never ending surveillance scenarios. Joshua Hood and Scott McEwen don't have any new books out, and the Clancy novels are disjointed books relying on name recognition, Tier One is a nice book to read without feeling like your being 'spoken' too. You are along for the ride as Wilson and Andrews describe what's going on, your mind is able to fill in the rest. Only Steven Konkoly does this trick better. You can read the description of the story anywhere, but the parts I look for like: is the story believable? Yes. Told Well? Yes. Heavy action? Yes. Detailed down to the correct ammo an MP7A3 uses? Yes again. Worth a read and sure to be read again and again.
Ray Portor was outstanding with the delivery of the story

Sequel to Tier One doesn't disappoint
The Israeli Head of Spec Ops had the right of it, "'The enemy of my enemy is my friend' is broken logic." The USA allies itself with one group against another only to have that ally turn on us a little later and kill us with our own weapons.
This is a fantastic series about great warriors. They are real and fully-rounded, and we trust them with our babies' lives. Jack Dempsey is a Seal's seal and more; he can't stop being what he is even though it has cost him the wife he loves and the son he misses more than anything. Dempsey is chasing the terrorist-who-got-away from the first book; this time there is a plan to hit several targets in the US simultaneously. One of the targets is Atlanta, where his "widowed" wife and son are now living, so Dempsey has a personal reason to stop the terrorists first.
There is lots of Special Forces action, some personality conflicts among the good guys, and some real human emotions. Great read all around. Ray Porter is outstanding.

PERFECT FIX for an action and suspense junkies!
War Shadows is the 2nd novel in the Tier One espionage/military thriller series by Brian Andrews and Jeffrey Wilson. Ember is the name of a super secret counter-terrorism team made up mostly of ex-Seal, ex-Delta Force, and ex-CIA operatives. The protagonist is ex-Seal Jack Dempsey. Dempsey is not his real name; he took it after supposedly being killed leaving his "widow" and now 16 year old son both of whom believe him to be dead. There are a great group of Ember characters around Dempsey; the authors do a terrific job of character development. This novel is about a planned terrorist attack by ISIS and Iran on three US cities. The leader of the attack in a Syrian terrorist who has already escaped Dempsey and his team twice. Ray Porter narrates this series superbly.
The Tier One series is great listening which I recommend highly.

Book 2 doesn't disappoint.
The first book caught me completely by surprise. I bought it to hold me over till my next credit (it was only $8) and I really loved it. So, I went right into book two immediately after it's conclusion and I loved book two as well. The way these authors create the story lines is great, it's riveting and enthralling and yet never seems to cross that line of implausibility. I'm sure there's plenty of covert activities that happen daily that we'll never know about so it just fun to read these stories and continue believing that America is a foe to be reckoned with at all levels and that American special forces are complete badasses. 'Merica!

So much better!
I really was not a fan of the first book "Tier One" in this series. I thought it moved slow, not much character growth, and a cliche plot. I knew I was going to read the second in the series after hearing rave reviews of it. I found this book a polar opposite. Amazingly fast-paced, exciting, a plot that puts reality to the test.
Ray Porter is fantastic as always.
I will definitely be reading the rest of the series now. This book is fantastic.
