Publisher's Summary

NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER

When a single mom becomes an empty nester, she spreads her wings to rediscover herself - and her passions - in this heartwarming novel from number one New York Times best-selling author Debbie Macomber.

Jenna Boltz’s life is at a crossroads. After a messy divorce from her surgeon husband nearly 20 years ago, she raised her two children on her own, juggling motherhood with her beloved job as a Seattle intensive-care nurse. Now that Paul and Allie have gone to college and moved out, Jenna can’t help but wonder what her future holds.

Her best friend, Maureen, is excited for Jenna’s newfound independence. Now is the perfect time to finally book the trip to Paris they’ve been dreaming of since their college days. But when it comes to life’s other great adventure - dating - Jenna still isn’t sure she’s ready to let love in...until an unexpected encounter begins to change her mind.

When Jenna’s elderly mother breaks her hip, Dr. Rowan Lancaster saves the day. Despite his silent, stoic exterior, Rowan is immediately smitten with Jenna. And even though Jenna is hesitant about becoming involved with another surgeon, she has to admit that she’s more than a little intrigued. But when Jenna’s children approach her with shocking news, she realizes that she needs to have faith in love and embrace the unexpected - before the life she has always dreamed of passes her by.

Life as empty nesters

What a great story of the ups and downs of single parenthood, and finding everlasting love. I truly enjoyed this book.

I cannot believe I listened to the whole thing.

Repetitive dialogue. Silly, shallow characters in a plot so predictable it was painful. I wasted a credit!

Another winner from Debbie

As always a great story from Debbie. Enjoyed every minute. Had to sit down and finish in one night the last 15 chapters...so good.

Ridiculous

Are these adults? Acts like teenagers. The women are an embarrassment to adult women. Did not like this book at all. So silly.

Marvelous book

I absolutely loved every second of this by. Debbie Macomber really knows how to get her listener to engage. The characters are real and so loving. The story line is up to date and contemporary. This book is definitely a must read/listen. I hope there’s a sequel !!

Very Disappointed

I have read many of Debbie Maycumbers series.
This does not come close to any of the book she’s written. The story does not invite interest, the writing is simplistic, the dialogue is boring, and unfortunately the numerator is really terrible.

Love Debbie's Books

This one did not draw me in like her others. Very predictable, but pretty good.

Enjoyed immensely

I really like the back and forth first person by the two friends. Also liked the unraveling of perspectives lessons on don’t believe everything we think. Good listen!

Best friends fun!

I loved the idea of best friends sharing their lives because it related to real life and to hear the lives of their kids and how they grow up was very interesting to me. Thank you Debbie for a great story! It really kept me interested.
