Ralph Waldo Emerson is a paradoxical figure in American society. He represents the very height of individualism and blazing one's own path, but during his lifetime his views were considered so radical that Harvard College, despite Emerson being an honored student there, banned him from speaking for some three decades after he gave his 1838 speech on transcendentalism. Charles Sanders Peirce is perhaps the greatest philosophical mind to emerge from the United States. He was hugely influential on William James, Alfred North Whitehead, and many other eminent thinkers. This small volume includes two famous essays by Peirce, "The Fixation of Belief" and "Questions Concerning Certain Faculties Claimed for Man." I am fortunate to be able to publish Baba Faqir Chand's satsangs as presented to Harjit Singh Sandhu and skillfully translated by Pulkit Bose. First as a series in Sach Khand: The Journal of Radhasoami Studies and now in book form. These talks that were given in London, England, in 1980 are genuinely remarkable for their utmost clarity and penetrating insights into the nature of spirituality. Baba Faqir Chand is unique amongst masters, since he was exceptionally honest about his experiences and what he learned from them over the course of his long life.

Faqir Chand was a remarkable Indian sage who spent over 75 years practicing an ancient meditation technique, popularly known today as surat shabd yoga, which attempts to induce a consciously controlled near-death experience. This book contains Faqir Chand's unique autobiography which was dictated shortly before his death in Urdu and translated during his lifetime into English. It also includes a seasoned selection of Faqir Chand's radical teachings.

This remarkable text was originally published in 1922 under the auspices title of The Life and Times of Akhnaton: Pharaoh of Egypt. Although the text is dated (new research has shed an even clearer light), it is a highly interesting account on this most remarkable Pharaoh who was an early champion of monotheism. This autobiography tells the fascinating story of Professor Bhagat Ram Kamal, the current spiritual leader at Manavta Mandir in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. He provides intimate details about his lifelong association with the great, unknowing sage, Baba Faqir Chand (18816-1981), who was an enlightened master of shabd yoga and the main successor of Shiv Brat Lal (1860-1939). Professor Kamal details the history of Manvata Mandir and provides very personal glimpses of Faqir Chand's radical insights into the nature of reality.

This book contains two essays which were first published in the 1870s and describe how a vegetarian and a teetotaler became rich. It is a fascinating glimpse into the early days of vegetarianism and what people ate who adopted such a diet. Also, a deep insight into how giving up alcohol helped one man became wealthy back in the 19th century. Edited and selected by Professor David Christopher Lane, who, without irony, has been a vegetarian (now vegan) for the past 48 years. 

This is an edited excerpt from John Stoddard's famous lecture on Japan (book one) which is beautifully illustrated with a series of photographs taken in the latter part of the 19th century. A fascinating glimpse of a unique period in Japan's history.

This delightful little book, published in the 1800s, gives a concise and illuminating history of our present-day alphabet. Although later scholarship has augmented much of what we know about our alphabet in the last 140 years, this text still is worthy as an appetizer for further exploration. 

This book tells the remarkable story of Sri Munshiram Bhagat, one of the chosen successors of the great, "unknowing" sage of Hoshiarpur, Faqir Chand (1886-1981). The author has gone into great detail about the life and work of Sri Munshiram and hisdiscipleship under Faqir, who was a master of shabd yoga in the Radhasoami tradition.
