Die Mutter des großen Johann Wolfgang von Goethe war eine fleißige Briefschreiberin, obwohl sie selbst mehrfach betont, sie schreibe nicht gern. Viele ihrer Briefe sind - von ihrem Sohn - verbrannt worden, aber immerhin 414 sind erhalten geblieben. Sie alle werden hier vorgelesen.
