Gepetto, un vieux menuisier n'ayant pour seule compagnie que son chat Clochette, travaille sans relâche à la construction de jouets en bois pour les enfants de son village. Storia di un burattino è il titolo del romanzo ottocentesco che ha come protagonista un notissimo personaggio di finzione, appunto Pinocchio, burattino di legno al centro di celeberrime avventure. Si tratta di un classico della cosiddetta letteratura per ragazzi e fu narrato nel 1881 da Collodi (pseudonimo dello scrittore Carlo Lorenzini). Il personaggio di Pinocchio - burattino umanizzato nella tendenza a nascondersi dietro facili menzogne e a cui cresce il naso in rapporto ad ogni bugia che dice - è stato fatto proprio con il tempo.

Given the time and location in which it was written, the original Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi contains many events and episodes which, today, many consider unsuitable for a modern children's audience. The Disney animated version was changed in many ways to reflect this - and so is this adaptation. Chris MacDonnell and Spoken Realms have re-imagined and re-written the more unsuitable sections to reflect contemporary expectations of children's literature. However, it is still truly a children's classic and the story is largely unchanged.

Debido a la soledad y de los deseos de ser padre, el carpintero Geppetto decide tallar su propio hijo de madera. Antes de terminar el pequeño marioneta cobra vida y Geppetto decide llamarlo Pinocho. Pinocho suele ser un niño travesío y bastante desobediente, y pronto se afronta por primera vez, un mundo lleno de vicios y mentiras. Dilemas morales, perdidas económicas y un fuerte rechazo social son unos de los problemas que hacen cambiar su perspectiva sobre la vida.

Volevamo che qualcuno raccontasse le sue avventure per far sperimentare ai più piccoli, ma anche ai grandi, le suggestioni e le emozioni che scaturiscono dall’ascolto di una favola. Geppetto, il gatto e la volpe, la fata turchina, l’omino di burro, il pappagallo, la marmotta, la lumaca, Il delfino, il pescatore verde, il tonno e il cane Alidoro, sono solo alcuni dei circa cinquanta personaggi del racconto, interpretati da un cast di ventidue attori professionisti, sotto l’attenta e curata regia del narratore.

"Le avventure di Pinocchio. Storia di un burattino" è il titolo originale di un capolavoro assoluto della letteratura per ragazzi, che ha ispirato innumerevoli edizioni, traduzioni in 260 lingue, trasposizioni teatrali, televisive e animate. La prima edizione fu pubblicata dalla Libreria Editrice Felice Paggi nel 1883. La storia di Pinocchio, ricca di personaggi memorabili e colpi di scena, entusiasma i più piccoli che la ascoltano per la prima volta, ed è sempre godibile per gli adulti alla sua riscoperta.

Pubblicato a puntate tra il 1881 e il 1883, il massimo capolavoro italiano per ragazzi, il "Pinocchio: di Collodi, vede la luce in volume nel 1883, conseguendo un successo planetario. La "Storia di un burattino" è qui narrata con accento toscano (cosa che avrebbe fatto piacere allo stesso autore) e con viva partecipazione emotiva. Un classico per ragazzi che non delude mai, e che ci riporta alla mente personaggi indimenticabili, dal babbo Geppetto alla Fata dai capelli turchini, da Mangiafuoco al Gatto e la volpe.

Il falegname toscano Geppetto crea un burattino vivente a partire da un ceppo di legno parlante e lo chiama Pinocchio. Il ragazzo non si comporta bene: non ascolta mai il padre, non mantiene mai le promesse e continua a mettersi nei guai. Insegue solo piacere e deve imparare a pensare agli altri, se vuole diventare una persona in carne e ossa. "Le avventure di Pinocchio" sono, ad oggi, il romanzo italiano più venduto di sempre.
