Clyde Hatchett hadn't planned on running away to become a pirate - that's just what happened. Straight out of the West (or, you know, somewhere through a gloom portal), in a thunder of hooves (but they're kinda like giant turtle hooves, if you can picture it?), comes Montana Coggeshall, gun (sword) slinger. Sure, he's survived Fiends' Night and an all-out goblin war. But for his people in Coggeshall to truly be safe, Montana needs to go out and find the source of all these crazy attacks.

Clyde Hatchett has known he's had a corpse-king inside him, slowly trying to take over his body and raise an army of undead for a while now. And while that may seem like a rather, um, urgent matter to attend to, it's only now, after being forced out of Glaton by his best friends and then having to rescue someone's sister from a bad marriage, that he's actually in a place to deal with it. And he better deal with it quickly, since his entire left hand is starting to look like it belongs to the Crypt-Keeper.

Clyde Hatchett and the rest of the Skull & Thrones better play their cards right - otherwise their newly formed guild will fall in a war with the Iron Silents, the overpowered immortals fond of spawn-camping and, well, anything that puts them ahead. So much for resting on laurels, huh?

Say hello to the new and improved Clyde Hatchett...who's only a level-four nothing. He's on a (seemingly never-ending) quest to get back to his life in Glaton. And now, all that stands in his way are the Empire-hating Carchedonians, a death cult, and a traitorous party member. Oh, and a mythical city that very probably doesn't exist.

Land-ho! Clyde and co. have finally—finally—made it to the City of Darkness. Which turns out to actually exist! One small problem though. Anyone and anything that sets foot on the island immediately disappears. Ceases to exist. Poof. To complete the quest, Clyde needs to figure out how to actually enter the city and steal the crown jewels . . . without getting stuck in the town forever. It's a foreboding, dark place (obviously), where corruption is rampant. And maybe worse: the game rules Clyde's gotten so good at bending to his will? They don't seem to apply.

Greg and Julian need to make a choice—die in the tornado that’s sucked them up in their van, or agree to hunt monsters in a world full of magic and levels and, oh yeah…monsters. The two frat bros may be master ghost hunters to their podcast listeners, but they never expected their antics to be taken seriously by a goddess in another dimension. And since when are ghosts the same as monsters? Awkward. But when the other option is certain death, it seems like it’s worth giving it the old college try.

Clyde Hatchett's latest adventure finds him wrongfully imprisoned, accused of striking the princess herself. With a death sentence hanging over him and time running out, Clyde's only hope lies in completing a series of impossible quests. Because in Glaton, being innocent isn't enough to save your neck-especially when you owe people favors.

Up until now, Montana's journey really only went one direction: up. But now he's back at square one, stuck on top of a mountain with only the most basic gear to help get him back to Coggeshall. It's going to be a long walk. But not a boring one.

Ginger Mitchell accomplished the impossible; the former call girl and now sort-of private investigator got into all of this to bring her mother’s killer to justice. But Darlene is still on the loose. It was bad enough when the woman was manipulating Ginger from afar, but now Darlene is in Portland wreaking up-close-and-personal havoc under the assumed identity of Isabelle Dunkirk.

No one is more shocked than Ginger Mitchell, former call girl, current PI, at how well this whole crime-fighting thing is going. In the short time since she returned home to Portland, she’s taken down an entire crime ring and exposed a corrupt police department. Not bad for her first year on the job. But it’s not like all that success made Ginger’s life easier. Hired hit men are after her. Darlene, the boss who killed her mother, is still at large. Ginger’s brother is missing.

Als Montana, der überlebensgroße Krieger, hat er nun noch ein letztes Mal Gelegenheit, sein Leben in Ordnung zu bringen.

Eine endlose Nacht, voll von hungrigen Schatten. Die gefährlichste Nacht des Jahres ist über Coggeshall hereingebrochen. Die Nacht der Unholde, wenn die Grenze zwischen Vuldranni und der Hölle am schwächsten ist. Und so kommt die Hölle zum Vorschein. Um die Nacht zu überleben, muss Montana sein gesamtes Lehen abriegeln und eilig gebaute Höhlenwohnungen in ein echtes, einladendes Zuhause für Tausende von Coggeshall-Bewohnern verwandeln. Die meisten von ihnen kennen und mögen sich nicht wirklich. Und alle haben unterschiedliche Vorstellungen davon, was in der Nacht der Unholde getan werden muss.

Clyde Hatchett, der verlorene Sohn von Glaton, ist endlich wieder zu Hause. Klar, er hat einen neuen Körper und ein neues Gesicht, also erkennt ihn niemand. Und eigentlich ist er auch nicht aus Glaton - er hat nur ein paar Monate dort verbracht. Aber es heißt ja, dass man dort zu Hause ist, wo die Liebe wohnt, und da Nadya in Glaton lebt... Moment, liebt Clyde Nadya wirklich? Das wird langsam kompliziert. Und dann sind da noch die Probleme, die Clyde hinterlassen hat und die während seiner Abwesenheit nicht weniger knifflig geworden sind.

Frisch wieder auferstanden. Weit weg von zu Hause. Ganz allein. Bis jetzt kannte Montanas Reise eigentlich nur eine Richtung: nach oben. Aber jetzt steht er wieder am Anfang: Er sitzt auf dem Gipfel eines Berges fest und hat nur die einfachste Ausrüstung, um zurück nach Coggeshall zu gelangen. Es wird ein laaaanger Spaziergang werden. Aber nicht langweilig.

Es stellt sich heraus, dass ein Kerkeraufenthalt den eigenen Plänen gehörig einen Strich durch die Rechnung machen kann. In seinem neuesten Abenteuer wird Clyde Hatchett zu Unrecht inhaftiert und beschuldigt, die Prinzessin selbst geschlagen zu haben. Da er zum Tode verurteilt ist und ihm die Zeit davonläuft, liegt Clydes einzige Hoffnung darin, eine Reihe von unmöglichen Aufgaben zu erfüllen. Denn in Glaton reicht es nicht aus, unschuldig zu sein, um deinen Hals zu retten – vor allem nicht, wenn du anderen einen Gefallen schuldest.

Wir treffen auf Montana, der gerade von einem spontanen Auslandsaufenthalt zurückgekehrt ist. Er ist ein bisschen weiser, hat einen etwas breiteren Blickwinkel und ist sehr erschrocken über die einst tote Person, die sich gerade in seinem Schlafzimmer befindet. Abgesehen von möglichen Zombie-Sichtungen ist er endlich bereit, seinen Job als Herzog ernst zu nehmen. Und das gerade noch rechtzeitig – nicht nur, dass die Politik der Hauptstadt immer näher an Montanas kleines, malerisch in einem Tal gelegene Lehen heranrückt, es gibt auch noch Kobolde, mit denen er verhandeln muss.

Land-ahoi! Clyde und Co. haben es endlich - endlich - in die Stadt der Dunkelheit geschafft. Und es stellt sich heraus, dass sie tatsächlich existiert!Allerdings gibt es ein kleines Problem. Alles und jeder, der einen Fuß auf die Insel setzt, verschwindet sofort. Hört auf zu existieren. Puff.Um die Quest abzuschließen, muss Clyde herausfinden, wie er in die Stadt eindringen und die Kronjuwelen stehlen kann ... ohne für immer in der Stadt festzusitzen. Es ist ein bedrohlicher, dunkler Ort, an dem die Korruption überhand nimmt.
