The conclusion to the Cat and Mouse Duet is here...

“If she were to die… the world would die with her.”

The worst Adeline Reilly expected for her life were a few unholy ghosts haunting the hallways of Parsons Manor, not falling in love with her stalker and ending up in the clutches of a trafficking ring.

Trapped in a house used to groom women for the elite, she faces the biggest fight of her life—survive the Culling and escape. But that’s not so easy when watchful eyes are determined to see her fail. However, Adeline may have an unlikely ally, who just might be the key to her getting out alive.

But trusting them is a risk that could cost her everything.

Meanwhile, Zade will stop at nothing until Adeline is safe in his arms again, even if he must burn the world to find her. Hunting his little mouse is what he’s best at, but who she’ll be when he finds her is a battle that he doesn’t know he can win.

It won’t be the test of time they must survive, but the memories of who they once were.

Warning: This is the second and final installment to the Duet. You must listen to Haunting Adeline first.

I thought it was better than the first one. But wayyy too long for what it is. The ending was cute, it's my favorite part :)

📚EBOOK📚 & 🎧AUDIO 🎧

Since I buddy read Haunting Adeline, my reading partner immediately asked if I was in for book two—and honestly, there was no way I was saying no. I loved the first book, so I grabbed Hunting Adeline in all the formats: a physical copy for my trophy bookshelf, the Kindle for convenience, and the audiobook for when I’m on the go. And let me tell you… when I realized the audio had just been re-released as a full-cast graphic audio, I actually paused. Because heu—say what?? 😮‍🔥
Yes. Please. This is absolutely my kind of audiobook.

Before anything else though: read the trigger warnings. Seriously. This book is much darker than the first and tackles extremely heavy, disturbing topics. Your mental health comes first—always. Even without personal triggers, I had to stop and take breathers during some chapters. The first half of this book, especially, is brutally hard to get through.

Story-wise, this picks up exactly where book one leaves off. If you’re here, you already know Adeline is kidnapped—and this book doesn’t ease you into the aftermath. She’s trapped in a horrifying situation, fighting to survive while being systematically broken, and it’s gut-wrenching to witness. Zade, meanwhile, is on a warpath. He will burn the world to get her back, but what he’ll find—and who she’ll be when he does—is not something either of them is prepared for.

Emotionally? This book wrecked me. I’m being dead serious when I say I went through every possible emotion alongside these characters. It’s heartbreaking, intense, and feels like a nonstop emotional roller coaster. I grew so attached to them, all I wanted was for them to survive—physically and mentally—and somehow find peace on the other side of the trauma.

Zade… yeah, he definitely has issues (that was clear in book one), but honestly? That’s nothing compared to Sibby 😅
OMG. I loved her—but wow, she is creepy, unhinged, and wildly disturbing in the most fascinating way. Truthfully, every single character in this book is broken on some level—some more than others—and that’s part of what makes it so compelling and unsettling.

Now, can we talk about the audio performance?
🔥 5 stars, no hesitation.
The full cast absolutely elevated this story. The performances were raw, emotional, and immersive in a way that made the darkness hit even harder. This is how this book should be experienced if you’re an audiobook lover.

And the quotes? They hurt—in the best way:

“Heaven isn’t a place you go to when you die, it’s inside the person that’s worth dying for.”
“Without you, I will shatter. But with you, I am indestructible.”

Hunting Adeline is not an easy read. It’s brutal, painful, and emotionally exhausting—but it’s also powerful, unforgettable, and deeply intense. If you’ve read Haunting Adeline and you’re ready to go even darker… this is the conclusion you’ve been bracing yourself for. 🖤🔥

The relationship between main characters got tiresome after awhile. Story dragged out with strange spicy scenes.
