From author Jescie Hall comes this heart-wrenching tale of addiction and a transcendent love that fights despite adversity in this spin-off instant attraction romance.

Addiction is my weakness.

A cruel temptress that follows me wherever I go.

Slowly dragging me down until I drown.

Until she shows up.

Johanna.

My life preserver in this ocean of drugs and madness.

She's a total enigma, as chaotic as they come. A vixen who lives her life without limits.

But her demons are greater than mine, and they threaten to drown her right alongside me.

I need her as much as she needs me.

We can either hang on and save each other, or we can both sink into oblivion, letting our pasts, our memories, our addictions be the anchor that weighs us down.

Contains mature content, including heavy drug use, self-inflicted pain, trauma, and graphic sexual content.

Kid.
I seriously did not think this book could live up to my opinion of Hawke but seriously Jescie Hall knows how to deliver a heartbreakingly beautiful broken man. In Hawke, Kid was portrayed as this easy going, fun, guy who does not take anything too seriously. This book really shows the true complexities of Kid. How he feels and feels so deeply.
Kid was an emotion trip even more so because I was listening to the audiobook. Joe Arden did an incredible job of bringing Kid’s character to life. The way he so easily went from calm and cool to anxious and spiraling, to enthusiastic and overwhelming, to flying high and to being broken hearted and raw. He delivered such a powerful performance. Seriously, if you are considering reading this book the audio is phenomenal. CJ Bloom voicing Han was perfection. Both portrayed so much emotion in their performances that you felt everything the characters were feeling. The relationship between Kid and Han was so beautiful and heartbreakingly raw. They were such a complicated and raw couple. Both had so many demons they were running from and using drugs to mask the pain of.
This book is dark and heavy. It focuses a lot on drug use, addiction, trauma, suicide, and dealing with grief. It is very character driven with less plot but honestly a great read about addictions, grief, and impacts of trauma.
Jescie Hall has blown me away once again.

Wow this was an emotional trip but I loved every second of it!

The book alone was an interesting read. your heart broke for the characters and other times your heart was soaring for them! HOWEVER, listening to it by audiobook was a whole different experience.
Hearing the pain, emotion, grief and happiness in their voices was beautiful and also gut wrenching. I felt like I was on a phone call because at points it felt so personal.
love Kia since Hawke, truly was not disappointed!
