Stephen Cipes is “Uncle Steve” to an entourage of kids…after all, he IS a kid! “I never like to be serious. Life is fun…this is our playground!” Stephen likes to run along the lake at daybreak every day and greet the sun. He loves playing with his little daughter and all of his grandchildren every chance he gets. He is busy (busy hands are happy hands) making wines that have won and are winning the highest International awards for his extraordinary organic wines. He has envisioned a model of “man and nature” and a venue for the “Grand teachings” on the magnificent 80-acre organic vineyard and nature preserve in Kelowna, British Columbia. He has built a four-story, fused-frame pyramid as close to the absolute precision and alignment of The Great Pyramid of Egypt as possible with today’s technology (the ancient civilization had technology we don’t (yet) have today). In 1997 he established gatherings in the pyramid and around the sacred fire in the Kekuli, a reproduction of the underground winter residence of the Okanagan People, welcoming the community to full and new moon and Solstice and Equinox gatherings. Daily “Pyramid Experience” tours attract thousands of visitors a day to the winery which is the most visited winery in Canada! Stephen’s foresight, initiative and passion for organics and the unity of humanity have earned him international acclaim. In 2003, he received the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the hospitality category. In 2004, he was named A Friend of the United Nations, alongside Yoko Ono and His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, for his work with Indigo Children. In 2016, he was given The Founder’s Award for his contribution to the British Columbia wine industry. His 20/20 Vision to convert the entire Okanagan Valley to organic by the year 2020 now has thousands of signatures including most of the Mayors and Chiefs and many celebrities including Dr. David Suzuki, Marianne Williamson, Caroline Myss, and Robert Bateman. To sign the DECLARATION visit www.OrganicOkanagan.com . While actively involved in the day-to-day activities at Summerhill, Stephen’s bursting energy takes him running daily with the vigor of a young boy. He shares his profound spiritual nature with children of all ages, and enjoys his four sons and four daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, and wife Rie (pronounced Ria) and little daughter Esther, the apple of his eye!
