Description

The gospel of Jesus Christ—the good news that through Jesus we have been adopted as sons and daughters into God’s family—means that Christians ought to be at the forefront of the adoption of orphans in North America and around the world.

Russell D. Moore does not shy away from this call in Adopted for Life, a popular-level, practical manifesto for Christians to adopt children and to help equip other Christian families to do the same. He shows that adoption is not just about couples who want children—or who want more children. It is about an entire culture within the church, a culture that sees adoption as part of the Great Commission mandate and as a sign of the gospel itself.

Ce que les critiques en disent

"Adopted for Life is a well-written rooting of adoption in biblical theology. Moore, who weaves in the story of the two Russian children he and his wife have adopted, shows how churches should view adoption as part of their mission. He shows what a difference it would make if Christians were known once again as the people who take in orphans and make them sons and daughters." (Marvin Olasky, Editor-in-Chief, World; Provost, The King's College, New York City)

I can’t recommend this book enough!

If you’re a Christian and want to know more about Gods heart for adoption and the theology of how God has adopted each one of us, this book is definitely for you. I’ve been a Christian my whole life and felt like I’ve learned a ton about the gospel through this book. I would encourage those who are reading this that wouldn’t say they are a Christian to read the book as well, right to the end. It’ll show you a picture of not only what the bible says about adoption but what God says about you or me through the bible.

I loved reading of Russell Moores story of how he and his wife adopted internationally and hear his perspective on common challenges or areas which often scare people away from adopting. My wife and I are currently in the adoption process and I cannot wait to see who God has in store for us. I’m sure I’ll give this book another read through or two while we’re waiting!
